In spite of it all I am still a HUGE Earl fan and would be thrilled down to my socks if he could snap this thing off (yet again), it might even shut all the doubters mouths. <--- doubtful

He is SO PERFECT when he's on, it makes me want to puke and never pick up a cue again. Even when he's NOT playing well, he still play's better than 99.99999999999999 percent of the worlds population. I know we've all seen it, like the videos of him playing McCready and Hines in that tourney from the mid 80's. No elbows, gloves, gimmicks or gadgets... Just Earl! and he seemed free to run. If he can get to that place again. taint nobody gotta like it!

I would love to see him win this thing again to make it 6. I think if Earl keeps it together he can get it done. There are very few people that can beat Earl, I think he beats himself.

Earl is by far the best I have ever had the chance to watch
play 9 ball .I really think another US open win would change
alot for Earl .Positive thoughts and prayers go out to the Pearl.

I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to watch this man practice every day I go to the pool hall. Just keeping your mouth shut and watching him run drills/racks is enjoyable to me. We that are pulling for Earl are pulling for him in a big way.

I laugh when I hear guys names like Lassiter and Hall tossed in the same breath as Earl, no comparison
 
I hope he's realized that he doesn't need all those gimmicks to play his game. I don't mind the tennis wrap or the sunglasses on the bright tv table but all that other stuff has gotta go! That's what I love about his old game.... no glove, just love!
 
I was watching him play yesterday and yes Martinez looked like he should have takin the match but face it he's a regular pro. Earls did not put in the best outing yesterday but the heat came to him because his break lacked, however nobody plays 9-ball cue ball control like earl, the difference on how good he its the ball like a God was when watching him practice before the match, him and Raphael were trading table after running the 9 balls, and i am not talking about his potting skills vs Martinez's potting skills but the stroke on each ball was like looking at a Toyota Vs a Ferrari - GO Earl, get your 6th US Open and shut everyone up then start to market the Strickland finger pool tape business, and open a storefront right beside Archer's collection of pool lint Museum (because face it there's no more room in his house for lint untill his kids move out).

Doesn't Earl have a table at his house? Is he matching up w/ anyone in town? How is he treated by the home crowd? Do they realize what an all time ICON he is in pooldom? What town does he live in now?
Please give us more scoop!

Hi Terry!

Good to see you back!

Earl's living in Greensboro N.C. again....no table at home. He gets a game every now and then. Not too often....as you may imagine.

He still draws people....they sit and watch him practice. ( as I did when I lived there:smile:)

I was just there 2 weeks ago.
