beat em by theyre own rules. it makes it that much sweeter. If you beat em by your rules then they think that you can only win playing your way. Beat em at theyre own game, thats the only way to do it.
that's all fine & dandy for sure!TXsouthpaw said:beat em by theyre own rules. it makes it that much sweeter. If you beat em by your rules then they think that you can only win playing your way. Beat em at theyre own game, thats the only way to do it.![]()

Even if you are Johnny Archer himself, don't ever, ever, ever (pause for effect) EVER try to impose your silly BCA, TAP, APA, or what ever league rules on a bunch of drunks in a bar.
This rule will keep you out of a lot of trouble, and I'm glad they didn't stick your cell phone with the BCA rules stored in it up where the sun don't shine!@#

Did he have that one too, LOL.....
champ2107 said:The bar rules i know are as follows:
u have to shoot whatever u make on break,
if u make either a solid or a stripe u then have a choice,
dont have to call pocket or ball,
sinking of cueball means cueball behind line and only shoot up table,
if u shoot and fail to hit any ball its no foul,
hit ur opponents ball first its no foul,
u have to call the pocket on 8 ball and how its going in,
if u are playing these rules u are playing a banger lol.
I almost got into a tilt a......Snip..........................
TheNewSharkster said:If I won the table I will make it call pocket ball in hand 10 out 10 times. That is essentially BCA.
tjlmbklr said:I always always will play BCA when it is known. And if there is any question when i do the meet and greet before a game I mutter..."BCA", If they hesitate for more then 2 seconds give up and play the banger rules.![]()
Granted I haven't play much barbox 8ball outside of Milwaukee county but these are the same rules hear too. But the only one that always should be clarified is when shooting at the 8ball if you scratch and miss you lose.Big Perm said:Texas Redneck 8-ball![]()
Rack solid, stripe, solid, stripe all around the outside...
You are whatever you make on the break...ie, you make a solid, you are solids
Call shot - call bank shots or making balls off of other balls...ie, 7 clean in the corner, or 7 off the 8 in the corner...
No safeties![]()
Any scratch is always in the kitchen...
No man hits a woman.....you do and four cowboys the size of giants will be taking you outside for a learning session....
Granted, I like BCA better, but smalltown pool can be profitable....won a lot of drinks and a few dollars as a kid under these rules....
ShootingArts said:We played local rules where I started playing pool. Pretty much the rules mentioned above. When somebody wanted to whine about the rules it usually started with "this is the way we play in Houston" My reply was always short and simple. "You ain't in Houston."
Everywhere I went tended to have different rules in the bars. It cost me a few games learning the local rules I didn't think to ask about but it wasn't a big deal in the long run. I actually had fun nailing the folks that made up the rules as they went. Before long I would use their own rule against them. That really spun them up.
Some towns play bank the eight as a given. I almost hit the guy that told me I had lost because I didn't bank the eight the first time I learned about this. Fortunately there were four or six tables in the place and I noticed that everyone was indeed banking the eight. It was a good rule for hustlers because it made games between bangers of different levels appear closer and banking the eight gave players a substantial edge. I was wishing the rule was more widespread after I saw how well it worked!

But I better go read them because I didn't get the part where he made solids on break and shot stripes. I need to start digging holes everywhere I go now, so I can have a place to hide lol.

she'll get smacked again, count on it
have you heard this bar rule?
i play a safe, hide the cue behind my ball
he doesnt have a shot
he hits cue ball a few inches, then starts to shoot again!!!
of course i went off like a rocket, asking just wtf he was doing
he said,
IF CUE BALL DOESNT GO 6 INCHES, IT'S NOT A SHOT
i just about blew a gasket over that
now, there's one silly sob , that should be slapped!!!!
TheNewSharkster said:I caught an earfull one night because I used the rake on a shot I couldn't reach. My opponent said it was cheap and it was a granny stick. He said he wouldnt pay me if I used it and won the game.
I was like WFT do you think it is there for? The fricken pros use them without thinking twice about it
