You forget to put "old" in the thread title.
These things happen when you get old.

P.S. Here I am again on Saturday night.

I saw your thread last night and I see it again tonight, too! LOL. My excuse is my tournament is over for the night and same for last night. Only difference is I was out of the scotch division last night but am still in the singles division as I write this tonight.

Well, lets hope we don't see you here tomorrow night until real late. That would mean that you did well in your singles. Good luck!!!

shape

I knew I was getting old when I started playing shape to do the least walking instead of getting the best shot! I have played entire games from one end of the table.

I dislike the weekend crowd, except when there's a $50+ tournament!

amen to that. The pool halls full of drunks who cant play, the musics too damn loud and the beers are fifty cents more on the weekends. Plus all good tournaments around here are during the week. except for one on saturday morning.

you dont gotta be old to hate the pool halls on the weekends.

after playing my max,3-4 hrs. a day 3-4 days a week (mon-fri) i've gotta rest for next week and leave playing to the weekend warriors mentioned in the other posts.

Danny Medina and I walked into Hardtimes years ago about 2:30 am. Just as we were entering Ronnie Allen was walking out and asked what in the hell we were doing out so late. We replied just checking it out.

Ronnie stopped and looked at us and said, Boys, get the hell out of here. There are only 3 tyypes of people out this late, Gypsies, whores, and thieves."

LMAO!!!!!!

I went out last night for a drink (1) and a meal, I thought what the heck, I'll swing by the pool room, have only been in their and played once in 6 months and that was last week in the afternoon. I looked in the back door, saw a couple good reasons why I need not go in and drove home, watched TV and 'you know the rest of the story'. I did see the guy I played cheap this last week, cause if I haven't played for 6 months it doesn't take much to get me excited for a couple hours. I had been thinking about Buddy Halls cueing of whitey for the past six months and how he always stayed in the middle, as we all know, thats a difficult place to hit all the time, but I never went more than 1/2 tip off center, beat the guy out of 20 games in two hours, I was more surprised than he, so when I saw him sittin' there last night through the window I knew it wasn't worth goin' in, and Hendy, I like your Avatar, but if Avatar is an incarnation, is it really you who speakith? :D :D

Just curious, did you ever in your life get beaten by anyone of equal height? I bet not.

LOL, that's been my MO for many a moon. (equal to giving up the 6??)

Another telltale sign of the aging process is accepting that it now takes all night to do what i once could do all night:shrug:

Thanks for this great post and your kind words. Encouragement from AZB friends is always nice and appreciated.

I'm very happy to report that I won! I had to double dip my opponent in the finals and did it to win the tournament. :) I am still in shock though and don't think it's really hit me, but I feel good and am smiling, so maybe it has sunk in more than I realize. lol.

Thanks again, dabarbr!
