Two good players were in a match (race to 3) They were a few minutes into game #4 when player "A" realized he forgot to move his coin to reflect his 2-1 lead. When he went to move it his opponent says... "No, you cant move it now... if you snooze you loose - the score is still 1-1 since you forgot to move the coin"
WTF??? I do not understand why someone would say that. If you know your opponent is ahead... they are ahead... it does not matter if they forgot to move the coin.
What was even more odd to me was when they were approached the tournament director (nice decision Dennis) he still insisted that the rule is "if you snooze you loose".
I call BS!

Clearly I'm not the only one who thought the original poster meant that Dennis had insisted it was 1-1 and that "you snooze you loose applies" and that the "nice decision Dennis" was sarcasm.

I agree 100% that coin funny business goes on in gambling, but we are talking about a tournament here that has a TD that makes a call on the situation.
Here, in Texas, a fair, common sense call will be made. Most of the time.
Unless you're playing in the Fast Eddies 9 ball Tour, then watch your arse!! LOL. Especially when that Paul guy makes a call!! J/K Paul.
You guys are the best Lewis! If everyone ran their event like you & Paul, pool would have a better image.

"Bad call Dennis" IMO

Great point and I think the line must be drawn somewhere. Further, the logical line is next game's start.Cuebacca said:...to play devil's advocate, could there be a justification for the snooze rule? ...What if this were a race to 5, and a player forgot to move the coin on the first game, and remembered once he got to 4? ...I can see some justification for some sort of snooze rule...
back2good1 said:Sorry if I was clear as mud.... I thought I mentioned it in a later post. Dennis had each player acknowledge that the score was 2-1. Then he made them make the coins reflect the true score (2-1)before they could proceed.
Bigtruck said:I know why y'all have such a hard time keeping score. It's that coin thing.
I have a much simpler way to keep score.........never had an argument!!![]()

A Player fouls but no balls in his bank so he owes a ball to the table. When he makes balls he has to spot a ball ( after the inning is over ) from his collection to pay for the foul .If the opponent forgets to remind the player about his foul and the debt to the table ,the guy who owes does not have to repay the debt. The onus is on you to remind the debter.
I never agreed with that rule and well in advance I let my oponent know about it.
