Sounds like a story in progress. Tell us more..:)
Been a hobby leathercrafter for 36years [taught by my brother - who started leathercrafting in 1950] I want a soft case to hold 4 cues and number of shafts [10 possible], plus a speciality cue [masse] . Cases I seen or brought doesn't meet my demand. So I'm looking at building a leather soft case with carrying handles, shoulder strap, pouches, with western buckles, hand stitches, leather lacing. Leather craving both invert and floral design, possible basket stamp?? or not. I might show progress later, but remember it for me. But it you want something to talk about! Why isn't there a rain protected cover [raincoat] for cue cases? How many times have you ran to the poolhall, so your case didn't get wet!!!!!!!!:D

My Dream 'Kit':

Playing Cue: My current 'Captive Hearts' Skip Weston....sorry, but it is my dream cue!! LOL.

BackUp Playing Cue: That's easy.....Si's 'Orange Crush' ('Tangerine Dream') Dennis Searing. Get all 'twitterpated' when I see that cue!...Lol.

Breaker: All maple, with maple handle, 2nd Gen X-Breaker

Jumper: All maple Jacoby Jumper

Case: Gotta be a fully hand-tooled custom Murnak 3x5

> Playing cue-My current Runde era Schon,3 totally identical ivory ferruled shafts.

> Back up cues-the Mike Sigel Joss/Kersenbrock set that John Wright had,the Tangerine Searing, the Searing with the silver diamonds that Icon has,the Schon that came up for sale a while back with the huge ivory points,or a really nice Cognoscenti, all with ivory ferruled shafts.

> Break cue-could be any of several. The Sigel Kersenbrock,my current cocobolo Joss SP,or the Espiritu SP a friend had 10-12 years ago,it was the best break cue I've ever picked up. A close runner-up was an ebony Cognoscenti. If I went with a break/jump,an ebony Gilbert with a wrap and a piloted joint,an X-breaker with black collars,or a Mace.

> The case itself would be a Whitten, either in solid black smooth leather,2-tone with a dark grey,or even a 2-tone light/dark gray,or a newer version of my old solid white leather Porper, with the black straps on it,it looked like an Air Jordan. I also like the Justis cases, except for the boxy looking pouches. Tommy D.

Sounds like a One of a Kind....

Playing cue: Mosconi's favorite Rambow. Good enough for him, good enough for me.

Backup: Lassiters Martin. Same reason.

Jump/masse cue: Jacoby plain Jane

Although they probably played with those cues early on, when George came into the picture, both Mosconi and Lassiter played with Balabushkas for most of their playing careers.

The playing cue would be a plain, four point Mottey with an iovry joint and a lizard wrap. The backup would be a fancy Mottey. The break cue would be an X-Breaker.

Although if it were up to me, I'd ditch the 3x5 and opt for a 12x24 dealer case filled with 23 Motteys and 1 X-Breaker! :D
