What the heck is a black square and what does Imao stand for? Do I need to hire a hit man?

The "black squares" I think are really a dark gray and they're from a poster who has not posted a lot of posts or does not have a lot of rep yet themselves. I don't know what the cut off line is for them to be able to give green rep, maybe 50 posts or so?

I don't know what "Imao" stand for. I'm not into hip-hop.

Nice info Steve but the posts only go back 1,000. I have a few more posts than 1,000. :o

But thanks anyway. That was pretty neat. I could guess at a couple of who wrote some of the comments but it takes way more time to find the post that has the REP than I'm willing to give.

JoeyA

Seeing that I have less than 1000 posts, I did not know that. :o

I'm glad that I found my first post to receive Rep before I reach that milestone, but I wish I could remember who left me the Rep.

If anyone remembers giving me rep for this post,

Could of have been yours truly cause I'm a huge HARRIS fan and, if the truth be known, I've given it up w/o even knowing someone's name.....

This is the comment that was left.

"Hehehe!. Very funny stuff.... Evil, I like that.

Does that sound like you?

NOPE, I'm innocent, don't talk or walk the "HeHeHe" stuff:)

With luck the mystery will be solved.

using SDE's method I found my first repped post was me saying how even though it seems lame, the APA's limit on stacking a team up with only skilled players is probably a good thing.
http://forums.azbilliards.com/reputation.php?p=709404

It was like the 40th post I made.
Also found out I'm creeping up on 1,000 posts, lol.
I wouldn't mind seeing old reps, some of them have funny little personal messages that made me laff.

I took my "method" one step further and read through the thread and paid attention to who else posted. I then PM'd a link to the post of first Rep to a member who I suspected to be the giver and asked him to click on the Rep button for that post. He PM'd back that he could not give Rep to the same post twice. Bingo!! Now I know the person who gave me my first Rep and the post for which it was given.

Thanks JoeyA for starting this thread and giving me a fun little project/puzzle to solve. Now I feel all warm and fuzzy inside.:p :)

This thread got me looking at my User CP and I found out that I got a rep from JAM for calling Keith a freak!! I'm sure she knew I meant it in a good way but it still made me laugh.

:) I don't remember my first REP point unfortunately, the person who gave it to me or the comments and truly wish I did.

For a very long time, I wasn't aware of REP and never paid any attention to the little Green Squares. I'm sure that since I didn't know what green rep was, I didn't read the threads and posts that contained info on them. I probably thought green rep had something to do with the condition of the felt on the table. :p

Since you can only see a few of the REP credits at a time and it appears that if you don't read them when you get them they can be gone in no time at all. Newer comments and REP points take the place of older ones and the older ones simply go off into never-never land.

If there was one thing I would like to see changed it is probably that. It would be nice to travel down memory lane to see the comments that people make. As time passes, even after reading the comments left by the GREEN PHILANTHROPISTS, I have a tendency to not only forget the comments but who donated the REP even though those comments are greatly appreciated.

I wonder if there is a setting in the MAIN FORUM that could be changed.

Anyway, its Thanksgiving and I have a lot to be appreciative of and the little green REP and the comments that people make are some of the best things I have ever learned about pool, myself and other AZers.

JoeyA
My first was given to me from Varney. Go Varney!

NICE IDEA, STEVE. (that's probably how Smorgasbored got so high on the REP TOTEM POLE)

Hmmm? Come on now Steve, give it up. Are you sure, you weren't just trolling for some more REP? ;)

SmorgasBored can get pretty competitive with the pecking order around here. :D :p :D

Glad you are feeling warm and fuzzy. Now if we can just get a couple of other posters in the same mood. :p

Best Regards,
JoeyA

That would be really cool. I have been copying and pasting reps into a document. The first one I noticed was from Secaucus Fats, but I was already past 1700 then.

I like to think every one of my reps have come from thoughtful posts, or from something that lightened up someone's day. When Smorgy passed me, it was well-deserved. I know I rep him a lot, because he is SO funny!

Here is a chart of what the greenies mean. All this stuff should be in the FAQ section, because it is a recurring question.
