Shooting Music
Are you Brandon Vera?
This is an interesting thread for me...
I have always liked to play with headphones on listening to Music..
It started back to 1989 when I came over to the States from the UK
to learn to play 9 Ball. I stayed in Miami for the best part of a year and
played on Corrinne Hoffman's South Florida Pro 9 Ball Tour. I travelled
with Tommy Brown and John Ditoro, Miami Vice as they were known.
I myself was dubbed "Miami Vice, London Branch" by Benny Conway LOL
Back then I had a "Sony Walkman" cassete player with three album tapes.
Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms"
Fine Young Cannibals "Raw and the Cooked"
Sade "Diamond Lights.
In fact Ray Martin started wearing a Walkman after playing me in one of
the Tournaments. He asked me why I was wearing it and I told him that
because I played so well with an open Bridge and an Ash Snooker cue with
just a 10mm tip spectators would often comment on it, so I started wearing
the headphones to cut out any distraction. He then told me he had also
been having a similar problem. His matches usually drew a good crowd but
they often contained too many "whisperers" and it sometimes bothered him.
He then asked if he might try out my Walkman in his next match.
Next tournament I saw him at he was wearing a Walkman himself LOL
This year, while making my comeback after 10yrs not picking up a cue.
I was disappointed not to be allowed to wear an Mp3 player during my
matches on the Uk Pro 9 Ball Tour (GB9 Ball Tour). As I always wear one
in practice and find it helps me focus and play with a consistent rythym.
I have a Rap Playlist (Snoop, Dr Dre, Suger Hill Gang)
A Jazz/Blues Playlist (Jonny Lang)
A Dance/Club Mix (Slinky Intercontinental)
And my favourite play list which is simply named "LOUD"
I DO play it VERY loud LOL...
Don't Fear The Reaper (Blue Oyster Cult)
Basketcase (Greenday)
Born Free (Kid Rock)
Come as you are (Nirvana)
Sweet child 'O mine (Guns n Roses)
Lithium (Nirvana)
Living on a Prayer (Bon Jovi)
Money for Nothing (Dire Straits)
Paradise City (Guns n Roses)
Rebel Yell (Billy Idol)
Smells like Teen Spirit (Nirvana)
Times like these (Foo Fighters)
White Wedding (Billy Idol)
You aint seen Nothing Yet (Bachman Turner Overdrive)
