Would you play with a three turnover rule?
Won't the variant called one shot push out(where you can push-out at any time or multiple times) be the fairest format to play? Helps make bad rolls a thing of the past.I was in a my usual tournament event and there was an argument between two players because one guy decides to '3 foul' the other guy for the win. Personally, I don't have a problem with this and it has been done to me before and I've done it others.
There is one trigger that will cause me to 3 foul you. One of them is the break-scratch. Right off the bat you have fouled. I'm going to win this game.

Why not? I don't care how I win.I was in a my usual tournament event and there was an argument between two players because one guy decides to '3 foul' the other guy for the win. Personally, I don't have a problem with this and it has been done to me before and I've done it others.

I 3F'ed a guy yrs. ago in USPPA. And he was the best player there. He never spoke to me, or even looked at me after that.I was in a my usual tournament event and there was an argument between two players because one guy decides to '3 foul' the other guy for the win. You would have to spot me 2 fouls on top of 3I three fouled Cliff Joiner once about 30 years ago. Sweet
So if 3 balls drop on the break playing 9B with an easy layout and your opponent scratches, you're going for the 3 foul? I'd only consider it if there were balls tied up that couldn't easily be broken up with ball in hand.Only off the break will I do it.
It’s an automatic win.
Of course if that happens I’m giving to pocket the balls. I’m an offensive player and rarely do I push or play safe.So if 3 balls drop on the break playing 9B with an easy layout and your opponent scratches, you're going for the 3 foul? If someone is pissy about 3 fouls win, then they are not of good sportsmanship. Hence not worth playing with. It takes a lot of thought processing to be able to 3 fouls someone. It isn’t easy to play safe while baiting for that either. If I play against other person who utilize the same strategy, our play will drag out, but both will be very satisfying. Every ball and stance is a challenge to overcome. It is much more fun and I also found that pocketing the 8 ball is also less stressful as wellSo satisfying to 3 foul someone as long as they aren’t the kind of person to get pissy about it.
If the breaker scratches he is on one, if you put him safe behind a cluster and he takes an intentional foul to break up the cluster he's on 2, that's very risky for the breaker, even just a simple 1 rail kick can cost him that rack.I 3F'ed a guy yrs. ago in USPPA. It was so easy to 3f him...there was a small clump of balls on the rail, and I kept feathering the 3b and sending cb way down the table. No way anybody could've prevented doom. Funny thing was all he had to do was spread the cluster and take the foul. I was not a threat to run out.
So a lesson to all...take the foul and splash any dangerous clusters.
I had a guy I play often start safing me big time. Irritating at first but it taught me some things, like getting better at recognizing when it's time to safe and how to safe better.I was in a my usual tournament event and there was an argument between two players because one guy decides to '3 foul' the other guy for the win. I don't know if I'd go that far. I'd say for players rated 700, after one scratches on the break, their opponent, if they tried to get them on three every time, might be successful 10-20 percent of the time.Only off the break will I do it.
