Zero-X Billiards response to allegations made by Max Eberle, Jimmy Reid and others.

We may never know 100% for sure. With that said, it only seems fair and logical, unless substantial proof can be supplied, the benefit of the doubt must go to Tor at this point. I purchased Jimmy Reid's materials and respect what he has done for pool. Given his health conditions and what must be his emotional state of mind, it is also easy to understand how he could be confused and may have also jumped to conclusions. That is not, in any way, meant to demean Mr. Reid in the slightest. Just stating a logical possibility for what happened.

Frankly, it seems like Tor and Jimmy are both good people. As FathomBlue stated, it simply doesn't seem like Tor is the type of person that would do what Jimmy accused him of. It simply doesn't add up. I pray for a miraculous recovery for Jimmy and also that he and Tor can reconcile their differences in the not too distant future.

As I recall, jimmy stated that tor controlled the PayPal account that Jimmy's business used. I am not going to be digging up the thread.

.

That's great, that it is still theft. Someone, anyone, they can call the police. And yeah, scamming the elderly is a big deal and will get someone's attention... yet, when Tor asked them to 'bring it" they packed their bags and moved right out of the thread ;)

Seemed like the "I stole your system" was not sticking, so they threw this against the wall, and nobody was buying it with not one shred of evidence... nothing, nada, zilch.

This whole thing does not pass the smell test with me.
Tor has some sort of production company, produced films, is currently traveling the country promoting pool giving free 14 day boot camp pool lessons so it's obvious that Tor has either earned or comes from substantial money.
Why in the world would someone in that position steel what amounts to pennies from great pool player who like most other great pool players don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of?

Thats actually pretty low, what ever it was supposed to mean. A joke possibly.

If you had half an idea of who Pam is and what she has gone thru for Tor, despite life threatening health problems herself, you probably wouldn't have mentioned her name.

It isn't an insult, rather a $0.10 word that means writing in an overly complicated manner which oft leads to distraction.

Like I said, I have no idea what truly happened, only reading what jimmy and tor have posted here.

Tor recently spent 5 days with me working on my game. He is very humble and asked for nothing more than my desire to learn. He wouldn't even accept a jacket from me when it began snowing while he was here. Instead he left wearing a t-shirt. I highly doubt he would ever do something like that to Jimmy.

I believe Tor and respect him to a very high degree. I plan on blocking the emails sent nearly every day from Max. I thought he was more mature, but I guess I was fooled.

I am sure this is a dead thread as neither Jimmy Reid or Max ever replied to TOR calling them out on thier allegations. It is obvious to me that anyone who stole money from a paypal account could be easily figured out because a PayPal account will give you a transaction log with all of the information as to where all money came from or went for the life an account. If the money was coming out it had to go somewhere and it would be easily tracked with account numbers, dates and amounts. If it was manipulated via the internet then also they could probably give you IP numbers so I very much doubt money taken by Tor.

Next stolen ideas is pretty much moot as well if you actually wanted to purchase someones material and then create your own version to sell there is no law against it and I am not saying that is what Tor did, he said he totally created his own content based on playing for years then I believe him. The balls roll, creating a system based on how they act is fair game for anyone. Most all systems we see are based on a very old systems which have been in literature for many years or taught in lessons/ word of mouth and once you have knowledge you can re-wrap it and present it to others for free or for a price, that is what most of the instructors do in pool, golf and math. They are taught, they learn, they practice, they master it and then they come back at it with their own take on it and then they share it with others.

I only met Tor one time when he was helping a local player who did the 14 day thing. I think Tor is just trying to do something for players, pool and also for Tor by giving back to the sport with these 14 day training sessions and then he hopes to create some sort of reality pool show. Well good for him and good the lucky players who get his time and knowledge and good for pool in general.

I wish Jimmy, Max and Tor all the best to each and all of them. I think this thread needs to stay positive and not be all snippy like a few of the the last posts have been when this dead thread was resurrected.

I've been following this hot topic between Jimmy and Tor long before I ever joined this forum. My background is IT & Security and I can SAFELY say that the arguments/accusations leveled against Tor from an IT perspective are very flimsy, inaccurate and flawed.

I've watched Tor's videos on youtube and I purchased his Banking video. I must say that Tor is an excellent (and patient) teacher and is extremely down to earth in his style and explanations.

I've never met Tor, so how do I know he's patient? Just look at how relaxed he is while he explains and demonstrates during his videos. He literally goes through an entire drill while explaining and offering tips and advice and encouragement! Most teachers just show the layout for the drill and *maybe* pocket a ball or two for demonstration purposes and speed on to the next chapter. But not Tor. He makes sure he spends enough time on a topic (without being boring!) that by the time he moves on to the next chapter/section, even the dumbest of all rookies can understand!

I enjoy Tor's style, simplicity and down-to-earth nature. He's the BEST progressional pool teacher I've ever seen and I strongly endorse and recommend his videos to all skill levels of pool players. I'll definitely be purchasing his Kicking video before this week is out!

On the other side of the coin, even *if* Tor did "steal" (uncopyrighted concepts and principles that existed for ages), then I'll still pay him my money because he SIMPLIFIED everything into an easy to understand system that can easily be learned, executed and remembered.

So either way you look at it, Tor is a boss and I support him!

tempest in a teapot

I love the game and regularly teach people what i can not to make money but to have a better game. walking up to some wood pushing barfly and cleaning his clock is just not fun for me.

the information in your videos is simply the truth . the basic information can be found in bob byrnes videos and books , Bob Jewiitts Pool digest articles and many APA newsletters. There are no secrets to this game that a good understanding of physics would not reveal. the art is in how to blend them correctly. hindsight has 20 20 vision and I for one am grateful for any advice or insight i can get. lord knows i spent enough on some really lousy pool books (willie Mosconi's and Minnesota fats books come to mind )
there are some great players who just can't teach or plain don't really know why some shots work. just read ray martins book for instance. a perfect blend of ignorance and experience . i think the effort and hours spent producing these films represent an extraordinary labor of love. I applaud the generosity and love of the game i would gladly pay for this set . you can't copyright the alphabet and say someone is stealing your letters . and you can't have a battle of withs with an un armed person .

why resurrect a 2 year old thread?????

Best wishes for your continued success and play well.

7. I find it interesting that I'm being attacked by Max Eberle, CJ Wiley, Jimmy Reid, and several other pool instructors. What I've done is created pool instruction that is easy to understand and affordable. I posted a three hour YouTube video FREE for people who may not be able to afford to buy a DVD instruction set. I believe proper pool instruction should be all about the game and not be about the person presenting the information, why I never even mention my name in any of my videos. It's not about me. It's about the lessons presented. For CJ to mention that I appeared out of nowhere is interesting since he's been connected to me on Facebook for months and I've seen people share with him directly links to my Zero-X Billiards page. I didn't come out of nowhere CJ. I've been around the pool scene since the 1980's in one form or another. Just because you or anybody else may not have heard of me, means nothing; only that my style may be a little different. I don't promote myself and that's my choice.

As far as I know we've never met, and I honestly had never heard your name until the issue with Jimmy Reid. Regarding "attacking you", this is seemingly far-fetched.

As far as being my friend on Facebook, I have over 5000 "friends" and over 2k requests, I probably only know about 10-20% personally, and you aren't one. No offense, this is just the truth, and if we've met and I don't remember then I apologize.

Best wishes for your continued success and play well.

I'm guessing at least a few of the characters in this story must be dead by now as much time has passed.

Something worth talking about

My hat is off to anyone, who is giving a value to their customers and selling good products. Its a pity that there is animosity of any kind among people who promote the sport and I have noted some in my personal dealings with some of the products producers. I am glad that I have other ways of supporting myself. I am sure that in every business there is some of that sort of thing.

Its another thing on the list of negatives that gives pool a black eye with the public. Its a shame we don't spend more time creating New Players rather than bickering between ourselves. I have seen the Zero X videos that are online and I am personally blown away by the ease that Tor Lowry gets his point across to this students. I have yet to download the pay versions because I just keep a lot of things to do and when I do set down its mostly to rest. I've had several of my customers tell me to download the kicking information and if I didn't like it they would pay for it. So that says a lot about the advice.

I wish there was one thing we could all agree on. I wish that we were fighting and bickering and creating drama over who got more New People to learn to love pool. That would be something worth talking about.

WHY in the name of ... is this still going on?! It's simple really, you can't patent a diamond system for pool, nor any other pool teaching. You have copyright, so a guy can't quote you line for line, but that is it. As far as the paypal thing, that is some weak s---t right there. It would be easily provable that someone stole funds from your paypal, and I believe in Tors explanation of why Jimmy might think that a theft had taken place, when in fact it didnt.

I hope this issue can go away soon, because it's getting really boring to read obviously false accusations, made to further someones private agenda. If I were Tor Lowry I'd seriously consider sueing Max Eberle for this.
