true but the best players usually still winThat winner breaks and the way those tables are breaking with that cut break where it's almost playing break and first shot. I think we would run out most of those racks.
Something has to be changed, with players of this caliber just starts to become ridiculous.
Not so sure about that. Their web page shows the black pro as being the softest of the black version, and by the feel of the hit, I would have to agree. I was thinking of trying some ivory ones as others spoke highly on them but I don't need any more tips for awhile. I would like to try a Thoroughbred tip.I also use ultraskin. The soft is softer than the pro, the pro is closer to medium. If you want softer, go with the ultraskin ivory soft, it's the bounciest of the bunch, or they have a super soft in black.
Not better, just different.Making the game harder, is making the players better.
Wide pockets will allow you to "cheat" the pockets on purpose but also allow you to "miss" and still make the ball.
The tight pockets reveal the flaws in the players aim and stroke and requires him to be better.
Taking the ability to cheat the pocket or at least reducing it, is not hurting the game, it's elevating it.
The game has changes many times from the days it was invented. Either you move forward or get stuck in the past.
And yes, player are more cautious and play more defense but the level of defense play has gone up as well as just hiding is not enough with the modern jump cue and how well today's players jump.
Overall, the average pro player today would have beaten the average pool player of 30 years ago easily (no need to try and find the exception, we all know they're out there)
Something to consider, most players that have an issue with the tables are amateurs that these conditions do not apply to them that usually shoot on 5 inch bar boxes (toy tables) and old farts that blame the table for their inability to hit the target...
Pros don't complain about it. They understand that the conditions are even for all and if you want to win, you just have to be better!
No one is claiming it is necessary. Do you think the measle ball is the only way to get better?Disagree, somewhat. The dots have 'some' place as far as watching a match but i don't think they help teaching/learning much. IMO most players learn how to use spin by watching the cb's reactions/movements and not looking at the ball spinning. Pool was played a gillion yrs before this thing came out, you really think players have improved because of it? How did Efren, Earl, Mosconi,Buddy, etcetcetc ever get so good without one?
i have been on the list before youJust seeing if anyone knows what's going on with Searing. I've seen some hints that there was some problems with cue orders recently, but can't find much on that. I put my name on his waiting list in 2010, when it was said to be 10years, and haven't heard anything. Are they still worth the price, and if so, what's the current cost of an average cue? Should I still be expecting to hear from him, or have things changed?
This was done with no gimmicks, an ordinary rack and balls, no divots or marks on any of them. I had exactly one chance to get it right. They did not have time for me to set it up again if I failed. Just to get all the balls in place and balanced is a trick in itself!Fun facts also in the video:
- Our beloved Jay Helfert appears in this video and does a trick shot!
- Buddy Hall is also in the video & looks very slim.
- Jim Rimpe is also in the video and appears too elegant.
- There are some magazine ads from the 80s which are funny to watch especially now with the internet times we live in.
And yet where are all the people running out the sets on barboxes with 5" pockets?Making the game harder, is making the players better.

Disagreeing doesn't make you right lolSorry I'm late to the party... I too was very curious about what cue he was using, because I'm a huge Schon fanboy, and it did look like a Schon. I watched very closely, and I disagree that it's a Joss. It seems to have the signature Schon nickel rings at the joint.

Only the "tour" gives him points so why bother.Doesn’t matter. See SJM’s answer. Him not showing up means he’s not serious.
i have never seen a ball turn that much on a diamond tableThat is one crazy twist it took coming back off that rail![]()
