I'd use anything that would get sufficient bridge elevation. I've used magic markers - awkward but they'll do the job. Any kind of wrist support that would get your bridge hand from 4 to 12 inches off the table is fine with me.

Again, the bridge is not used to support or elevate your bridge hand. It supports and elevates the cue itself. Like any other mechanical bridge.

Perfectly legal.

The professional presentation of Snooker make it enjoyable to watch. John's commentary was some of the best.

"Why did I miss?" Is dealt with immediately upon sitting in my chair. The best answer would be, "it's a safety not a miss." The most difficult to get over is, "uh I don't know." The important thing for me is to analyze, categorize and then put it behind, clear the mind of baggage and prepare to re enter the fray.
From experience, I know that my method Can work. It doesn't Always work but it gives me the best chance. Clearing the mind to give full focus to the problem at hand if and when I return to the table.
Full focus leads to me having negligible memory of anything other than seeing the game ball take the fall.
A favorite memory: At the handshake my opponent said incredulously, "You shot that 8 ball left handed!" It was indeed such a difficult shot that required Full Focus, so I had to look down at the cue in my left hand and reply, "I guess I did."
It was a shot that fit the left hand as the right hand was table hooked.

Is your friend willing to split? If so, how much for the Breach?

I saw him play snooker in his prime. He was a fine player and a very capable commentator.

What rule?

I can't speak to VNEA which appears to use some kind of proprietary rules unique to their league, but the WPA/BCA/CSI rules are consistent and clear.

The bridges themselves are perfectly legal.
