Butt Protection

Show me a 10,000 dollar screwdriver and I'll buy you the butt pad.
Dude, seriously. I'm not trying to troll you, but you're gonna drive yourself literally insane if you keep worrying about shit that doesn't matter. Stress kills. It will lead to health problems.

Lets say worse case scenario... your butt gets scratched. Big whoop. Send it to proficient and get it re-finished for a few hundred. Or just play with it. Or get a cheap beater if you can't stand the thought of something going wrong.

Seriously, please just chill out with your insanity, nobody wants to hear your mental masturbation and games of what if every 30 minutes. Talk to a counselor or a psychiatrist/psychologist because the things you concern yourself are pretty abnormal. I'm not saying this to be a dick either. Talking to a qualified person would probably really improve your quality of life.

Corey Deuel still good? Fargorate

My point being is that golf handicaps are based on recent history. Fargorate is not. I'm not saying to use golf handicapping for pool
Fair enough. I just think in golf you can use recent history because everyone gets to tee off from the same spot and hit the ball until it goes in the cup. Your golf handicap is 100% based off of your individual performance.
In pool that is not always the case, so a longer time frame will likely give a more accurate assessment.

44 Breaks & Only 3 Chances

Just got done racking and breaking racks of 9-Ball on my Gold Crown IV. I counted and I broke 44 racks and only had three decent chances to run out. I got out once and hosed up the two others.

This has been going on for years and years and years. I know you posters are sick and tired of hearing it. But I've just about reached my wits end with this GCIV. It has to be a bad breaking table. And even when I did make a ball almost every time I had a real bad spread, literally no chance at all.

I guarantee you that if my renters decide they don't want to renew my upstairs apartment above my garage for storage next year I am going to get a Diamond Professional table. I've just had it with this GCIV. And yes, like I said in the other thread, that means I will have two home tables. Once I convince myself the Diamond Professional is a better playing table I will either just keep both or try and sell the GCIV.

Stay tuned...........

I can't believe we're having this conversation again... Move the CB to different locations and try different speeds. One will work alright on your table, others wont. This is why you see pros changing break locations when one isn't working. You must adjust to the table and conditions change constantly. Get a legit branded magic rack, the Ghorst one is good, 2 for $15. Use it. That way it eliminates one variable.

I'm a nobody and I promise you within half a dozen breaks on your table I will both pocket the wing ball and get shape on a low ball. Seriously this isn't rocket science.

Not every rack is runnable, it's often smarter to play a safe. Sometimes balls are clustered and being able to navigate and manipulate clusters is just one more skill that the pros have a better handle on that us. Just because you say it's not runnable means almost nothing. I bet SVB could run 75% of what you or I consider not runnable.

Get on youtube, really and truly do look up videos there.

Corey Deuel still good? Fargorate

I'm sure his game isn't what it was years ago, but he still plays well. He just got back from world games so could be jet lag. He doesn't seem to take it too seriously anymore. I think it's been years since I've even seen him play two events in a row with the same cue. He normally sells it after the event and has Meucci drop ship another to the next event...or borrows one from a local. He had a FB post last week about trading his cue for a non-stop flight home....lol

Do previous champions still get free entry to US open? I'm guessing they do, or guys like him, Earl and Rodney probably wouldn't be there.

Probably not fair to compare handicapping pool to golf. No one ever ran a 5 pack in golf and kept you in your chair for 30 minutes or simply ran out the set. :)

Corey Deuel still good? Fargorate

Just watched him get smoked at the us open. He tried a jump shot and didn't even hit airborne. His fargorate is 773... What if he's actually a 730 or 40 now...then I wondered

How long will it take fargorate to accurately reflect how he's playing now, given that's he's older and less active? What if he stops playing? is he forever at 773? Seems odd

A golf handicap uses the most recent 20 rounds but I think fargorate goes back years. I'd be curious to see the biggest drop in rating from a pro with a long history

It's like reverse sandbagging, forever stuck in his glory days, sorry Corey 😅

Compete without fear

We have, at our pool hall, an individual that has a reputation of severe sharking. It p'd me off how how I let him beat me last time we played a match, with just the anticipation of him possibly sharking me affected my game. I have only about 2 years of Billiards competing under my belt, and I let him get to me. Everybody in the house tries to avoid him, but sometimes in League you just have to play him, even though you wish you didn't have to. It was my fault, as I should not let someone affect my mental game like I did that day, and I should have just focused on what I was doing. The guy just can't keep his mouth shut, and I have to realize this, and just not pay attention to it.
There's guys like that everywhere lol and I just noticed more and more of it lately. The commentary seems to have picked with the guys I play with once a week and I'll lay a good safety or hook on them and say OOPS sorry I didn't mean that and walk away from the table laughing. This week I'm gonna get in their heads even more when I start singing to the music and throw in a dance step or two lol.
