The only sports I can imagine women get more views is beach volleyball and gymnastics/pole vaulting etc. I cant think of a reason why though 🤔😁
I like women's tennis as much as men's tennis, though not as much these days since there are no Serenas or Steffi's dominating the circuit. The men are really a two-man show now with Alcaraz and Sinner.

Actually, for years now, the "Billiard Bombshell" has been Emily Duddy's nickname. Hence, this is not a case of announcers having different styles. It is part of Emily's branding and I'm quite certain that she is happy to be referred to as such.
I am well aware of her branding and nickname, sjm. Yet the older announcer doesn't just keep calling her the Billiard Bombshell for branding purposes. He just has that classic old-guy sound to him when he's talking about a pretty woman. Like he's been in love with her forever or something. If you heard this announcer as much as I have, you'd think something was weird about it, too!

The younger announcer never calls attention to her unless she is playing and he never refers to her as by anything other than her name. I would display the same tact if I were an announcer, too. I think it's weird for any announcer in any sport to refer to a female pro as a bombshell, even if the pro gave the moniker to herself.

Automatic Shot Clock

I would rather see a product that uses a cheap commodity video device like a go-pro to monitor when balls stop moving. Use it with software that runs on a laptop or rasperry pi. Not sure if that would work with spinning balls though.
A ceiling mounted camera with a wide field of view running off of a single board computer like a Pi could probably detect total ball motion for long shots but might fail with tiny movements found in safeties and especially classical carom games like balkline and one cushion. The downside is you need to run power to the ceiling mounted location, and have a mounting point in the first place. I think clipping to a light with a battery won’t work well, beyond typical field of view. Not great options for the average player going to the pool hall for a few hours.

The DigiBall has the advantage that no external equipment is needed… the signal just comes from the ball itself. You just jump on a table and start playing right away.

Unknown Cue

In some trading I got this cue. I know what it looks like. And I am not under the impression that this is authentic. It is super nice the fit and finish is top tier. I can't find any markings that might identify the builder. The wear on the bumper seems to indicate it has seen years of play. And has been taken care of.

The problem is that she's NOT a bombshell and doesn't play that well either. Probably a name she came up with herself

One of the older announcers can't help but refer to Duddy as the "Billiard Bombshell" every time he sees her. Every single time. Every single tournament. Never fails.

I’m really hoping Matchroom will reconsider bringing back the World Cup of Pool. It’s one of the most exciting—if not the best—events they’ve ever hosted. Just like in the old days, it’s always been one of my favorites to watch.
Jeremy Jones suggested in a recent WNT broadcast that the WCP of pool would be coming back, but no details were offered. MR really fumbled that one. It was my favorite of the invitationals.

Predator, to its credit, picked up the ball and ran with it. The competition between Predator and MR is really heating up.

Matchroom has done a better job of stacking events, as they have done in the US this year. They've done the same with the UK Open, WPC and Asian events later in the year. Only the European Open is lacking in that regard.

Yet Predator has found a winning formula in pairing several big events together AND in pairing the men and women together. The men and women really seem to enjoy playing with each other. No surprise, since there are so many pool couples these days. Fans seem to like it, too.
