Bergman and Fu win the 3rd set 4-0!!! They will play the winner of Gorst/Hung vs. Zielinksi/Seo.
Shaw and Centeno should have won the second set and the match. A few glaring errors.

I thought the game changed when it become more about safety battles. Shaw started to instruct Centeno more instead of letting her just play her game. A mistake in my view.

While Shaw and Centeno played some good safeties, Fu and Bergman were better. At no point did I see Bergman instructing Fu at all. They consulted a few times, but he was not a man doing any pointing.

Fu is a legendary player that took quite a few years off from the game. She has won the World 9ball, the World Teams championship, the World Heyball, and two China Opens. Had she not taken a long break, she might have become a BCA Hall of Famer.
I have never seen Fu and wondered who she was. Love to know why she has gotten back in the game - she sure has looked good! Playing and beating Mast now with a chance to get to the final 8 on the women's side.

Carlo Biado broke and ran 8 times in a row! If the format were any more offense heavy, it would be even less interesting IMO.
I haven't watched all of the matches, but that seems to be exceptional- most players seem to be struggling on the break. Even Shane was struggling to make a ball.

why don't they use racking templates? Seems like most players are having trouble making balls on the break- is that what they want? It would also save time as it takes the refs quite a while to rack the balls
The randomness of the break is intentional. At first Predator was just hawking and selling its product. Then Predator realized the rack made breaking a way to keep 8-ball more competitive.

The randomness of the break, of course, means it is easier for top players such as Filler and SVB to get knocked out early. So this 8-ball tourney requires a lot of luck.
