Some things must come to an end

Well it`s been a great long run selling these milk dud tips for the past 15 or so yrs, but my wife has breast cancer and my 90 yr old father is having some health issues, so its time to close this chapter in my life. You`ll still see me at the SBE show ever year barring any health issues that my family members may have. I would like to say a big thank to everyone that I have met and made friends with over this long run here on azb. I will not be selling or making any more milk dud tips going forward. I may in the future be selling my tip presses that I made and used during my tip process, but that will be done at a later date and time. Thanks again for this great ride
Take care
Jeff

Thank you Jeff for your work over the years. It should make you happy that there are thousands of people playing with (and enjoying) your tips.

Hoboken

sinatra was a kid in hoboken but grown up he was around fort lee n.j. as his parents lived there and he preformed at the "riv" there.
he was out and about town.
when up at lake tahoe he hung out at bill harrahs house
He lived for a few years (1941-1944) in a little cape in Hasbrouck Heights, with his wife and daughter, as his fame was rising.
House is still there, still semi famous in the area.

Please, for the love of God, stop snowing!

Two things.
1) In Idaho this year I haven’t had to get a snow shovel or snow blower out of the shed. 😎. I don’t want to get too cocky tho because other years can bring more snow than I want and this winter isn’t over either.

2). Close to sixty Januarys ago, my father left work in a large city on a big lake. The city south of you. It was below zero with a brisk 30 mph wind. He asked himself WTF was doing living there, despite spending his whole life there. We moved within a year or two. We moved west and still had seasons and snow. Sometimes some bad snow or cold weather. But not like the Midwest. My uncle stayed longer. We got pictures of the winter of ‘78. He was in California by 1980.

Oh, 3 things. Chicago and the Elkhorn area were nice when I visited. In September. 😜

February to me is when winter gets too long and people get too edgy. I suggest trying to go to BCA in Las Vegas.
That s where I will be! Wind chill of -28 degrees yesterday. Luckily no snow.

Was pool better 50 years ago?

Only a little less entertaining? Pool is boring as hell now. All the players using the same exact breaking method, all of the time, lol. It seems like they are all copying each other.

And, what is with that stupid looking Cut Break, that all the pros are now doing? What happened to the days of the random power break?

Now, it is all pattern racking, soft breaks, and all players doing exactly the same thing.

It must have been way more exciting, and interesting, back in the 70's.

the genie is out of the bottle when it comes to the break. doesn't matter if it's 9-ball or 10-ball. joe tucker (may be wrong) started this dissection, and if a pro today doesn't have a thorough knowledge about the break and practice hours logged, he or she is at a big disadvantage. it's like not having a jump cue. there's no going back to random power break, because it's disadvantageous. it's rational choice, not "copying" others.

It’s not the table. If you watched the match and don’t understand why the environment was hostile to Oscar and not to his opponent, I can’t help you.
Most players, having a room of players pulling against you motivates them. Even some shaking. I know it does me...

If you want to be a gambler on pool you need to turn negatives into positives; fade the pressure, thrive on no sleep, not eating, being on your feet. You better train for it too.

I used to set an alarm for 4 am and go shoot on my table, just to be better playing tired. Most nights, you make your money late night after 8 plus hours of play. If you are playing sets, you only really score when the opponent is down and wants to double up the bet to make money. If you aren't there to punish him for trying...you won't leave with his money.

I just played 3 hours in my garage....thankfully now heated. I don't even play out. I'm playing to get right for Super Billiards and get it the frame of mind to grind out matches. It isn't at all like it used to be, but there's a bunch of guys I gamble 500 a set plus and I'm not stealing ever.
