The Gambling Process

Buy a dog

I did paint my sneaky white, thought that might help! With my wrap around Blues Brothers shades indoors and the white cane I thought I was in there!

We would’ve been good road partners….anybody who goes around making fair games is guaranteed to go bust.
I play by the rules of poker….I try to make a winning hand look like a losing one.
I would take a rough proposition if the money difference was right though.

After the first few years I just counted on the percentages and odds. I didn't want any talk of anything but play pool and let the chips fall where they may. When people cried for a spot when I walked in the door I just asked if there was a pool hall anywhere around!

One advantage, I wasn't but about seventy-five miles from the Heart of Acadiana, Cajun country. All Cajuns would gamble, some had money. It was only when I got restless and went scouting for new country that I had to work pretty hard.

St. Louis Louie vs. Archer 1990

How much did the Heroin add to his game? Zero respect for players that died from Heroin. George SanSouci, those close to him verified it was Heroin, yet the pool world likes to glorify an addict. Commentators praise them and you wonder why big money sponsors turn away from pool.

If you're talking about Louie, my recollection is that he hated needles and it wasn't self-administered heroin that did him in.

So what I'm saying is that there are those in St Louis that found his death highly suspicious.

Bergman and Benoit win the mixed pairs. Bergman gives full credit to Ashley, he says she was the reason they won and that she carried him.

When Shane won the mixed pairs with Ashley, he took all the credit and said they only won because Ashley listened to him.

That's why Shane is toxic for the Mosconi, and why Bergman needs to be in the Mosconi Cup team.

I think that it is more important to understand that people make choices in life that others- especially those that are not close to them- would not quite understand and certainly are not here on earth to judge. If you are so fortunate in life that you cannot fathom the inner pain that someone may be feeling to make such choices, then consider yourself lucky- life can be very cruel for some inside themselves; regardless of the outer visible talents that they may display and others admire.

These early deaths are human tragedies - far removed in meaning-- from the game itself - we are people first, players second, and I hope that we can all truly understand the difference - not to be able to do that is a worse fate in life- in my own experience and feeling.

New Shaft is out - Triple 60 TS1

Ive been playing with 12.75 30” shaft for few months now which is better than Cynergy I had before. Now I will be posting it for sale on here soon as well as the break shaft…. Soon as i recieve my new Tiger 🐯 cues

Many emails with triple 60 recently asking them for a custom build to remove glossy and why so bold with branding at the joint and more importantly that glossy area at that joint I hate. Even Fedor doesnt play with new one anymore but with the original that first came out. Its not practical when you need to extend for longer shots. Which one would you choose below?

The new Gorst shaft is built to the same specs of a custom shaft that was made for Fedor, just with branding and now available to the public.
I don’t like the branding either and the glossy part does seem weird

RIP Joe Salazar

Just remembered a funny Joe story.

I can't recall at which event I heard this happened at but it was quite a while ago. Joe was headed back to his room and was rolling a couple of those big dealer cases into the hotel elevator. He rolls the first one in and turns to get the second one when the elevator doors closes. He frantically hits the down button but up the first case goes. Of course he freaks out but somehow the case comes back down with all the cues still inside.

think I would
have passed out
I remember when that happened. The skid held a lot of 12-pack cases, all on the elevator.
All came right back down, at Valley Forge years ago!

Denver Poolhalls

It's been the same cycle for the last 7 months. In my limited experience, there was hair and food and all kinds of shite under the rails, and the cloth was badly stained on some of the 9 footers (to the right when you walk in the front door). It didn't look like anyone ever vacuumed under the rails. I did not like playing there--too grungy. However, Felt's is in a nice area. There's a women's pro tournament coming up in September at Felts, so the 9 footers should get some new cloth then.

Also, when I visited Felts, maybe 50-75 league players started showing up in the evening. Does that happen every evening? Will the op be able to get a table?

U Time Bililards in Aurora is another new pool hall. They have a bunch of Diamond coin op bar boxes, two no name 9 footers, and one 3C table.

Pharaohs is a little bit North, and it has 15 bar boxes, 2 nine footers, and 1 Diamond 10'.
bummer man, sorry to hear you had a bad time.

how often do you feel cloth should be replaced?

as for league, they have a whiteboard up with their schedule but i’m not seeing it online. I’ll snap a photo of it and post it here if OP wants.

ive not been to U time yet but it does look nice.

Pockets are perfect! With my little bevel treatment on the cushion facings, they ended up at 4-5/8” they take the ball beautifully, this table is playing super fair!
Lol that’s good to hear. I was like damn I wouldn’t be able to stop at this point
