World Pool Championships 2025, July 21-26, Jeddah

well, also the date was announced relatively late, player list appeared like 4-5 days ago, draw was out yesterday, there's no live audience.. so on a whole, MR dropped the ball here. but, it can only get better... sigh

one a side note. i haven't heard all the studio chat with frost and the guys, but i've heard most of it. lots of players to look for to do well, gorst, chua, manas etc. have they said the f word at all? would be kind of silly not to mention the most likely winner
Filler was mentioned by Boyes, for sure, and one of the play-by guys as being the best in the world.

Good luck getting pool fans en masse to travel to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In the middle of Summer. You couldn't even pay me enough to go there.
Almost all MR events draw most live audience members from host nations. Last year the turnout improved as the week went on, but it’s just not going to be a lively atmosphere. The players know what is at stake though. That $250,000 prize has their attention.

Chua !
I’ve said it repeatedly. Chua can hit the ball harder, and more accurately at the same time, than anyone alive when he needs to get position. I’ve seen him make similar shots more than a few times. And he almost makes it look easy.

Does the type of joint really affect the value of a cue that much?

I believe this to be an 87 Series Helmstetter. Or, late 80's / early 90's era, in any case. I was really shocked it sold so cheap. Looks to be in excellent condition too.

Nice looking cue for the money.

It's not a numbered Helmstetter, not an "R.C.H." cue Basically, an Adam. Both the butt and shaft are warped. How bad? No way to tell until you have it. The seller said of the butt: "Slightly floppy warping". OK. You can take a chance on that and might not be displeased.

The finish is great, looks darn new.

Did you buy it?
How much do you think it's worth?
If you try to flip it on Ebay, how many times will you need to sell the warped cue before it's actually sold and not returned? Add fees, shipping, and the time you invest. How much do you value your time? I put mine at $250/hr.

I saw it, I watched it, and I passed it up. If it was an early 70's fancy Adam, I would be all over it.
