Sharing my new custom Build ~ Ron Arnold

Yea, I'm sorry, just gotta learn where to put everything. I actually put it in main forum too...
He's in Arkansas, he does very good work. On Facebook under Ronald Arnold.
He's also a VERY talented Leather worker and makes cases as well! Gonna have him make me one of them then too! He only does a few cues a year.
I just learned about Ronald Arnold last year (2025). Made arrangements to meet him at a pool hall in Fort Smith, AR. He showed me a line of his cues which were absolutely beautiful. He even permitted me to shoot with one (I was impressed). I had a custom John Showman cue made which was "borrowed" from me permanently some 10+ years ago. Consequently, I showed Mr. Arnold pics of the cue I had on my home PC. He is presently reduplicating the cue. Looking forward to see his work.

With how big Filler's gap is in Fargo (863 vs. Gorsts 850), it is statistically clear that he is the best current player in 9-ball. Anyone can come up with cherry-picked examples where someone else is better (e.g. only considering a certain tournament for the last few years), but if the definition of skill is your average performance over the long run across all 9-ball tournaments, Fargo is the most accurate measurement that we have, especially for top 100 players who have a lot of games in the system and regularly play eachother.

Fargo doesn't account for performance in big events and pressure.

If there was a Fargo system in the NFL, Josh Allen would be rated higher than Patrick Mahomes.

Vintage Jacoby with leather wrap

Like new condition early model Jacoby with a leather wrap. Beautiful cue no nicks or dings. Found it in a storage locker I purchased in a auction. Emailed Jacoby about it said it’s a early original and he valued it at around $1800🤷🏼‍♂️. I’d be happy with $800 it would pay for the unit. But no reasonable offer will be turned down. I don’t play pool I don’t need it.

Take all of the weight out of your break cue

I’m pretty short (and no longer young). I do not get a lot of cue speed. It seemed the harder I tried to add speed to my break, the slower it went and accuracy was terrible.

I tried a heavy break cue and went up 1.5 MPH without adding any effort. Heavy works for me.
Speed x mass = force, my break speed is terrible, adding weight was the only "weigh" to get a little more speed......
