For the 1st time ever, I am experiencing a Mezz United Joint shaft that will not fit on a Standard 5/16x14 pool cue butt (that is not a Mezz).

I thought to ask Google AI about some type of product that might help with screwing the joint pin into the super tight threads, and they recommended Beeswax, so I had this Longoni Special Way laying around, and put some of that stuff all over the joint pin, after cleaning it the best that I could. Then, I slowly tried to screw in the joint to the Mezz shaft, and at the point that I thought was stuck before, I was able to keep turning it, even though it did get super tight, and much harder to turn (as it would normally be, though tighter it felt), but I was able to screw it in all the way. I then did that about 3 times over, going back and forth, and I feel that it should be good now (hopefully). So, maybe the pin was just dirty, or the insert a little bit rusty, but not sure. I do wonder if there is a cleaner for cleaning the threads in the shaft. Thanks for your replies.

I find Predator PBS events to be considerably better product for fans than WNT events

I'll be the first to admit I do not know a ton about the details of how the fees are split, but I see more than a few YouTube channels that have a "Membership" only videos along with their free content. Seems like a good way for MR to utilize the outstanding interface and still have a "subscription" if they feel they need that.

I used to have a DAZN subscription, mostly because along with the MR events they have other content I watched, but I've never bothered with the WNT.tv deal. Partly because of the reviews I've read on the hassle to stream on TV, and partly because I feel like they got a bit greedy and power drunk when they thought they had the pool world by the balls. When I heard they decided it was okay to do a PPV behind a paywall service I thought they'd lost their minds.

I remember once when Emily was complaining about pirated streams, she said they can't get any sponsors if they can't show they have subscribers. That didn't really make sense to me. I would think if you went to Mercedes or Rolex and said we have 3 million YT views you'd get a lot further than saying we have 50,000 subscribers.

At least with DAZN there was a chance someone watching Boxing, Soccer, NFL, Darts etc. could stumble onto a pool match and maybe become a fan. That'll never happen with WNT.tv

At this point with all of the Heyball, Ultimate Pool, Predator and WPBA events that are free, the thought of paying to watch Filler run another paint-by-numbers 9b rack is pretty out of the question.

Johnny Archer finally pays off Oscar Dominguez

It’s nice of Oscar to be so gracious about this. Pure class.
Oscar is the epitome of class. Learned from his father who is also a great player. He supports youth pool and the game as a whole.

At his level he has been able to make money gambling on pool, as a room owner and top table mechanic.

He doesn't need the best of it to get into action either.

What beginner pool tip do you wish you learned sooner?

Isn't it really relevant on every shot? How you hit the cue ball makes it leave the tangent line or not, sooner or later, more or less, but the tangent line is always the reference.
Your making a valid point and maybe relevant isn't the word I should have used. But if you play a soft shot even centre ball it's going to leave the tangent line pretty quickly.

Ultimately when your starting to learn position you need to know the ball goes at 90 degrees from the potting angle if you stun it, 30 degrees for a rolling ball. That top/follow and bottom/draw move the ball forwards/backwards from the tangent line and that it will always start at the tangent line, the harder you hit it the longer it will travel along the tangent line. And for hitting cushions/rails at a medium pace with plain ball the angle of incidence i.e the angle it goes into the rail is the angle it will come out at. Side changes that angle and also speed (both in the sense the harder you hit it the angles straighten out, but also if you have running side the ball speeds up, check side it slows down). Side doesn't have much effect on the cue ball without hitting a rail (technically it has a minor effect since you have to hit the object ball somewhere different). The fuller you hit the object ball the more pace the cue ball loses. The closer you try to get to your next object ball the smaller your range is for stopping the ball and being in position. And you have much more room for error in terms of how hard you hit the ball if you can come into the line of shot rather than cross it.

Think above paragraph is everything somebody just starting out learning position would need to know. Though their probably is an element of having to learn through your own mistakes. As much as I would have loved to have known all that when I was starting out, maybe I wouldn't have appreciated all the details of it then even if I was told.

SJM Trip Report: 2026 WNT UK Open a Big Hit

The conditions at the UK open definitely suited Filler.

Pockets were generous and he had a easy run to the title.

Fedor got Khalid and Capito in his first 2 matches.

Filler got Appleton and Nigel Smith in his first 2 matches, easy wins.

How is that fair? Fedor is WNT 1 so he should not be getting Khalid in his first round match.

Fedor also arrived late as he was playing in another tournament.

I am confident Fedor will show Filler who is number 1 at the US Open.
I am not sure Khalid is better than Appleton, and in any case, Fedor should have beaten him. Fedor was also up 9-4 vs Capito in a race to 10. Fedor is the reason Fedor lost. Arriving late is on him.

Still, I am surprised Filler won't agree to a head to head with Fedor in 10 ball.

New Revo Shaft won’t fit Predator LE4 butt.

I use a 5/16" reamer
For 3/8x10 modified, i use a tap I had Widell make for the regular 3/8x10
It's a .281x10.
Works perfect for the modified in a 5/16" hole. I also use a sealer after tapped then tap it again when dried.

BLO with bullseye sanding sealer. 5 to 1 mix
I know minor and major diameters, but please explain what you are telling us above. Sure the 5/16 reamer aids in opening up the phenolic tell us what you are doing with this special tap .281 Maybe your wording was incorrect No one uses a tap the same diameter as the minor of the pin, nor will a .281 tap do anything in a .312 hole
Maybe you meant a .281 hole for your 3/8-10 tap that would work, then ream it with the 5/16
I'm not trying to argue with anyone, i'm trying to learn something here. The tip about the blo and sealer was good +
