Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

Another tidbit: Johan Ruysink is interested in coaching Team USA again. He said he was available on a Matchroom FB post.

Frazer messaged back that she was open to conversation so long as Ruysink's asked-for fee was not larger than the players' fees. He said he would respond to her via email.

Frazer clearly knows something has to change, but we'll see. She still hasn't announced another big event WNT has been hinting would take place in the US next year.

The US players have to spend more time prepping instead of getting into it with Jayson. They lose every time they do.

Bleacher Refs MR Cup

I was actually going to ask if they were selling alcohol at the M C. When I was at the Crucible for the snooker championships in England a larger portion of the crowd were drunk. There was even a fight a few rows away from me. One big Irish SOB even threw a beer at a bunch of people.

In general when I was in England and various pubs I discovered English people don't really fight. They'll get into screaming matches and up in each other's faces but nobody ever throws a punch. In the US you hardly say anything and the guy pulls out a knife and sticks it in you.

Longer cue for big tables?

Here is my take on longer cues/playing full time with extensions;

About 7 years ago I tried out a long, probably 8 inch extension, for the hell of it in a 9 ball tournament. I shot super straight, made long shots seem easier and I won the fairly big tournament.

So, after that I was on the extension bandwagon. I experimented with a few and ended up playing with a 4 inch extension full time for about 5 years.

Then I had an issue with the extension (stripped thread), so I picked up a 2" extension that worked with my cue, with the intention of picking up a matching 4 inch one when they had them back in stock.

The 2 inch felt like I had more touch on delicate shots, while taking a little away from the really long ones that require perfect cueing.

The setup I play now (Canada.... we only have 9 foot tables in most of our rooms) is using the 2" extension full time and putting the 4" (6" total) for when I need the length or for straight in full table shots. Seems to work for me.

Well, now I've went and done it.

I’m going guess lighten it further and maybe more for the glue to grip.
I would say lighten also or maybe the glue will build up slightly in that area and create a ledge to further lock it in place? Or maybe just to keep people guessing, ha ha.
That sounds legit, but how much weight does a 1/8” hole eliminate? I need to research this T-88 epoxy, I’ve seen numerous people suggest it.

New 1P Rules For The Derby City Classic

Probably more important: The official has to have the backing of management to squish the snails. I doubt that's the case.

I still have hope for chess clocks. In my experience, just having a clock at the table makes the snails move faster. And sometimes they just go away.

Even with all of that, 1-pckt takes a long time to play.

Room owners need to make money by having more players present at tournaments and spectators.
Unless you play this game watching it can be boring for spectators.

Could it be that tournament one pocket and gambler style between two players one pocket diverge to fill
the room owners needs?

There have been a few conversations I have had about this. One form would be like Straight Pool where you
can break make a ball and start running balls, the other that I've heard is to simply allow the games to go on as usual and
to have the players to race to a number of balls under the current rules.

Other deciding factors could come up like-- is this going to be rotating the break etc.

I am registered to play one this month, where Fargo and spots are being employed and I have no Fargo rating and there will be spots used, so there are a lot of things that could be done to bring the game into I guess you would call it, the new age, where Pool Leagues are the
biggest action around. We need to bring folks into the game, because it's the best game there is.

This past weekend in my local room there were 192 players at a 7ft bar table event with 10's of thousands of dollars
on the line. That is a movement getting more attention than the older tours around here ever did.

Pool changes slow, but it does change.

Chess Clocks have gotten better and cheaper since I had a chess club.
