Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

The Doggin' it guys are hoping for a single win today, sheesh.

I mean really, it boiled down to a handful of really bad mistakes and a few bad rolls. Is it really that bad?
The missed "easy" balls from Fedor, Billy, and Tyler....it ain't good. The fact that we could even beat two stumbling rookies in doubles, doesn't bode well for more than one point. The nerves the rookies may have had are all gone.

We got trouble

Most Americans watch live sporting via streaming now, which is fragmented at best. "Channels" account for 8% viewership. In my opinion, this is the ultimate result of enshittification, streaming is a piss-poor way of watching anything live. But it is what it is.

A little misleading. Streaming is 29%, not most. What you are lumping into streaming like YouTube TV, for example, is a viewing experience pretty much identical to cable tv and absolutely via a "channel" like ESPN, FSN, various sports networks, you name it. Now, you may "stream" via YouTube TV because that's where you get Peacock or ESPN+ or whatever via an app but the vast majority of live sports on YouTube TV, for example, is really no different than cable or satellite.

Yes, because the largest and most lucrative target market for your product should be required to go to 5 different sites and find timezone translation tools to figure out what time they can use your product, after paying you to use it. That is just a brilliant business model!
Or one site, which is the Mosconi Cup actual site and see what the time is in Eastern Time - if you need a timezone translation tool for that . . .

Here’s a question for you Yoda, if MR were systematically developing the US why not start with making their products available on mainstream media channels?
The simplest answer is that they are going to make the highest percentage of profit running it from their own site. Odd website problems aside, I think they've done a pretty good job of the production so far.

That said, I agree with you. The more people that get exposed to pool, the better it will be overall. I got into pool 30 years ago after watching it on ESPN, but I don't think pool has the pull for that currently. Maybe Prime and make money off of the commercials?

One of my biggest annoyances is that I feel they should have the entire thing up on YouTube 1-2 months after, but I also say that about most major tournaments.

Wait, is DAZN still showing MR events? I quit it a while back and now subscribe to WNTTV. Just curious if it’s on both platforms.
