You might just reach out to Ariel, he's pretty responsive and may be willing to just tell you what material he uses...
Yes, you can miss even if the cue ball lands on the ideal contact point. For example if you shoot a long stop shot with unintended sidespin. But I think you already know this. I'm curious about what you're getting at.How about if your straight in?
Could you send a link? This one's been on Craigslist (Ft. Collins and Denver, CO) for a while. Rather pricey though...

Yes, if you don’t adjust for throw. If you hit thee.... (exact contact point on the object ball that draws a straight line into the pocket center) can you miss?
I'm not 100% sure, but I think humidity does not affect them.Do any top pros use these?
What's weather resistant mean?
I don't know if it is shown in this video, but when the WWF did vignettes of the "Mr Perfect" character, it showed Curt doing sports themed actives showing that he was "perfect." The sports items were bowling a strike, shooting a basketball from half court and making it, and others. In one vignette, it showed him make the famous "Butterfly Shot." That is the only pool think I can tie into the Curt Hennig and the Mr Perfect character. What am I missing? Is he a pool player?
