Do Art Collectors need to be Artists themselves? There's all kinds of players who are collectors on here. Why would you collect pool cues if you don't play pool?![]()
you have to blame it on the changing times as well. old gens are lucky that they are able to afford when everything was within their grasp. don't have to save a lot to set them for life. and buying custom cues wasn't just a luxury, it was spent on mad money. nowadays, people can't even afford to pay the rent, bills, or even save for a holiday without working themselves to death. When i was young I didn’t really play much. In my late 40’s I took it up.again and was thrilled playing with the original Cuetec with a Le Pro tip. It was wrapped in fiberglass, so it was happy to live in my car trunk. I played APA and worked my way up to a 7 and would still use that cue if the weight bolt hadn’t broken loose. (I also broke with it, and broke pretty hard.) as I aged I turned to better (more expensive stuff). I now see the young guys and older guys, with a cheap butt and a carbon fiber shaft. They don’t care about a “fancy” custom cue, and it they want fancy, they buy a Players decal butt. I would guess that those of us that care about custom high end custom cues are a dying breed, and at some point values will be affected unless a hard core collectors group remains. I doubt they will include players as the collectors.
Bow string wax is mostly a mix of beeswax and pine rosin, I would give that a try too.I got a stick of bow-string wax at Academy. Just a few light passes and the rub it in and it makes linen feel pretty good. In the last few yrs i've gone to wrapless/leather/cork. I just can't play linen wraps anymore. Just feel strange, i've got dry hands and it just feels funky.
We recently began making chalk holders as well but the shape is different due to an additional feature.many have a hole in the bottom so you can put a coin or something else in the bottom to raise it up
in the pics below you can see my chalk is the same height or alittle less that the height of the chalk holder
i put 2 washers in the bottom and i am good to go
you can also see the hole so that if the chalk get stuck you can poke it out
Someone around here had one. We played it a few times.Never played it/seen it.
that's what I'm confused about. I mean, I had much better shipping time from international sellers. not to mention shipping is free. while in the Ultraskin website they charged about the same price they are charging for the cue tip which somehow defeats the purpose of them being cheaper than a Kamui or any brand. but anyway, if you are really interested, Ultraskins are now being sold on Amazon. fast shipping, no hassle, no extra fee.Maybe. But why not just say so? I'm sure that's exactly right.
Only about a week ago. I didn't realize they were in the peoples republic of Canada. I was guessing right or wrong, that it wouldn't take more than a couple day's to bag them up and ship them out once they received the order and the payment. Then the snail mail would be whatever it would be and I would follow along.
It's good to hear everything seems to be okay!
Also, I'm not overly patient unless I know I need to be. So there's that. Not to mention I pay very little attention to holiday stuff anymore so I hadn't really given it proper consideration. That's on me.
I didn't know that.Plus since Tom passed, his sister took it over. Maybe a little less personal passion than he had and the holiday took precedence. Idk just guessing.
