Better for me: AVID vs. G-Core or Vikore

How do you know your game excels with LD shafts? Every LD shaft I have tried over the years (many LD shafts tried over many years), I've always gone back to factory rock hard maple shafts. I would find a online store with a trial return period or local store where you can test hit in person for / with the brands you are interested in plus multiple others.

What shaft you play with is not the only question when buying a cue. What type of tips do you like (layered, non-layered, synthetic) and what softness (XS, S, M, H) do you like? Do you like a more forward weighted cue or a neutral / butt heavy weight (and what weight bolt system do you like)? What diameter butt do you like? Do you like wrapless or wraps (leather or linen, do not recommend rubber sport wraps)? And lastly, do you have a joint type preference?
I don't know if my game will excel with an LD shaft. This would be my first time having one. I get that I might not like it and come back to a traditional shaft. For now, I'm exploring this option that many players prefer. Maybe I'll have the same experience, maybe not.

I like a neutral weighted cue and a linen wrap. I haven't tried enough to know which of the other variables I prefer. I have noticed some of those variables don't function in isolation, but are influenced by the rest of the cue.

I didn't know Viking and McDermott had cue extensions. I have some more research to do on these cues. By the way, I didn't intend to limit the traditional-leaning option to McDermott and Viking. I used them as examples because they have a good reputation, long history, and offer models within my price range.

Aiming B.S.

I'm originally from California. Live in New York now. We have lots of great instructors. I've seen all the aiming stuff. CTE, Fractional, etc. Been to Joseph Meija (CA) Bob Jewett (CA), Dr. Dave (CO), Anthony Beeler (KY), Mark Wilson (MO). I consider them to be the top five instructors out there. Just flew to Kentucky for lessons. Beeler has by far the best aiming system out there. It's EXCELLENT. I bought the book too. It's simple to follow. Very good stuff!!! His 3 day class is AMAZING! If you are interested in learning how to aim Beeler is your man! They are all really good instructors but If you only have the funds for one, book a flight to Kentucky and see Anthony. If you live in California go see Bob Jewett. He is excellent too.
I don't see how aiming could be a reason to visit that many instructors. Don't get me wrong, I'm a nobody, you could probably thrash me on the table, but the topic doesn't seem complicated enough to warrant that many visits to instructors.

Am I missing something? Do you just like learning about aiming, or is it something you struggle with?

Ronnie doing Ronnie Things - Highest Break Ever

that was cool, thanks for the link

at some points in the run he was taking full advantage of the generous pockets the chinese (and saudis) have in their events. incredible achievement either way, of course
I know in the past snooker tables were governed by non-published templates controlled by the WST (or other snooker org) that would verify the pockets were all in spec. Did that practice stop?
