Pechauer Cues

Yeah, I am sure that it is a very well made, and quality cue, but I just think the simulated Ebony really cheapens the cue.

I do not think that any $500 cue should have any sort of spray paint, decals, or overlays. It is basically a very well made cue with painted overlays.

If it ever gets refined, then that simulated Ebony will get sanded right off, and the cue will look really ugly, and ruined.
Pechauer doesn't use decals or overlays. Points and inlays on the JP series are done the same as their Pro Series. What's wrong with using a dark stain on maple? What are you talking about with getting refined and sanding off?

Willard's Tipper-Trimmer machine has a GAUGE!

Luckily, I bought mine when they were under $300 new. Some of the things I figured out is patience, the correct size collets and sharp blades are a must, and as previously mentioned, practice first on lesser important cues. Patience and clear vision up close are essential so you don't gouge ferrules. Be careful when changing blades. The blade can be aligned straight or at a slight angle that would give the top of the tip a slight inward taper. I try to keep mine straight. Make sure cutter is screwed down tight in the block as is can become loose and slightly rotate. I started out using the gauge. Eventually, I learned to patiently push in the tip while cutting and frequently removing to visually inspect the evenness of the cut around the tip and closeness to the ferrule. My personal experiences may not work for everybody but I will say that since I couldn't afford a lathe, the Willards machine was one of the best investments I made since I do most of our local tips. Good Luck and have patience.

Time for new pool balls - Aramith Tournament Pro-Cup or Brunswick Centennial

I’d also like to add 20 years ago when there were still lots of people buying both Centennials and Super Aramith Pro, the people at the time were saying the Centennials stayed cleaner longer. That was my experience also. A bunch emailed Saluc and all the official responses were that the 2 sets were exactly the same, less the aesthetic design.

I never believed it myself. Maybe the Centennials had an extra polishing step.

Pool Stroke Training Shot Clock

The DigiBall has a built in shot clock. The timer starts when the cue ball stops moving and resets when you make it move again. It has an app for mobile devices, Apple Watch and an HDMI capable TVs.

The DigiCue is another product with shot timer capability. You set one of 4 possible ranges and it will vibrate if you shoot faster (or slower) than the set shot timer threshold. This also has a dedicated app suite.
