SJM at the 2025 International Open

Great write-up Stu!
I watched the YouTube live feeds for a couple matches, and I liked seeing the people sitting in Skyler's corner during his match. Looked like almost the whole Mosconi team there. That was a good match, with both players having nearly flawless performances, but Yapp was the one that moved forward.
I've been a fan of Yapp ever since that time foul thing with Shane in 2021, and it's good to see him do well.
Saw you sitting up there past the kitchen in the live feed of the final on Youtube. I pointed you out to my girlfriend, and reminded her of when we met you at Turning Stone.
Thanks for taking the time to put all that together.
Skyler really played some great pool this past week. It would be nice if his form is as strong at next week's Mosconi Cup.

Yapp has become a very special player. I recently asked one of the top few ranked players in the world what they thought of Yapp, and their answer was simple. They called him "the man to beat." Enough said, for right now, that is exactly who he is.

The 2020's have seemed to feature a dominant player each year. In 2022, FSR had one of those special years. In 2023, it was Filler putting together something similar. In 2024, it was Gorst wowing us over and over. Now it is Yapp, as obvious a player of the year as the last three.

Introduction. Hi everyone

I'm still just poking along at a snails pace watching the wood blanks move (warp) before my eyes... 😆
Have my gun drills now and working on getting them set up to core a 25" long piece of cocobola that I've turned down to 1.3" . Will be a stepped core. One heavy chunk of wood thats for sure

I'm also experimenting with some veneers. Decided to glue up a test stack tonight to see how it looks. I don't like that I can see the layer lines in it. I just glued the sheets together with a weight on top. I think i need to sand and smooth the sheets a bit before glueing, and add a bit more pressure by putting the lamination into my vulcanizing press to get what I'm looking for.

Still hoping to get one built before Christmas, but time is running out fast on that one...

Cole Dickson's practice session routine

Uh oh triggered memory time. 😉
When I was 16, I rolled my father's 67 gto. Uh the first time I drove it alone. 🤷‍♂️
In 1971 I was shopping for a family car with a pregnant wife that was just learning to drive. I was at a used car lot and the salesman steered me to a car that had just arrived and was only $900. It was a 69 gto judge with a 4 speed and competition clutch. Oh was I lust full. But I explained my quandary of needing a car my new wife could drive. 🤷‍♂️ He smiled and understood, so he tossed me the keys and said, "it Just came in. Let's take it for a spin." And oh yeah it had 20,000 miles on it. 🤷‍♂️ Oh boy do those Pontiacs have bottom end torque .
I ended up buying a 69 Camaro SS 350 with automatic. A sweet car.
The mid 60's Mustangs were the big thing back then (and even now) but the Camaro's were far better cars. You had one of the best ones!
