I was playing in a tournament last saturday. Waiting for games to finish I was watching one of my friends play a belligerantly drunk fellow. Why someone would get trashed during tourny play is beyond me.
I don't know what happened before the situation, but they were in the process of spotting a ball. The player that had to spot the ball was uncomfortable with doing so because there were other balls surrounding the dot. You could get the ball directly onto the dot, but it would be a challenge. So, they call the tournament director over to spot the ball for them. While doing so, he accidentally nudges a ball and the player with the shot says that the rack is disturbed so he wants a re-rack. I figured you could just roll the ball back to where it was and no harm no foul. Well, this guy was looking for a free ride (the drunk guy). Everyone was arguing and the drunk guy was arguing with the director over the rules. (also the owner of the sports bar)
It got pretty heated and the drunk guy was calling him all sorts of obsceneties, that I won't repeat here. They didn't rerack the balls. But, should the owner have kicked the guy out of the tournament under the circumstances. Could he have?? He was disruptive and clearly unable to control his tongue, or his actions.
It was under BCA rules with Cue ball fouls only.
FWIW, I beat that drunk guy out of the tournament, lol.
