Pool Hall Photos From All Over.

This is Almaty, Kazakhstan where bus stations come fully equipped with everything a traveler needs: internet cafes, snack stands, competing toilet facilities, and the world's creepiest billiard parlor.

Wow, one door in and one door out, with no windows!

To be totally honest, I really really like this.....or I should say that I can see the potential. It's filthy and the tables look like garbage but I really like the old decorations, the rustic paint on the walls etc.... Clean it up a bit, throw in some hard wood floors, etc... but try to keep the "vintage, country" look to it, toss in a few 9 foot GC's or Diamonds and that would be a really cool place to hang out.

thats kid delicious

This is one of my favorite pool room pictures. It is of Golden Cue in Albany, New York. The tournament has ended, and it's time to go home. The winner, clutching his trophy, is peering inside one last time, contemplating whether he should stay or not, as he watches another player counting his cabbage. To leave or not to leave, that's the question!:grin-square:

that's kid delicious counting his cashish in there

I don't understand why it says "Green Room" on the sign in front of the building, as depicted above, but the name of the pool room is Snookers. Here is their emblem. You have to go up a flight of stairs to get there. It is a historic building, which used to be a jewelry store of high-priced items. The huge antique safe is still on site inside the pool room. Kind of cool! :)

If im not mistaken they called it the green room becsue there was a seprate room with with a snooker or a three cusion table and it was like a lounge area but i havnt set foot in there since 2000 and yes the food is among the best i ever had!!!!

Great thread!!!

Here is another angle of the club in Paris (too bad they didn't let me take pictures inside...)

I will try to take pictures of some local clubs around here...

Thanks for the info! I always wondered why! :o

I love that pool room, especially Regina's meatballs. Yummy! :grin-square:

I especially enjoyed seeing your picture. My nephew just got back from a 15-month tour in Mosul. He's a combat engineer. Why he picked that specialty, I have no idea. Now he wants to work with bomb-sniffing dogs but says there's a waiting list. He re-enlisted for 4 more while he was on Mosul.

In your picture, what are those things hanging on the windows?
