Do I think the BCAPL is hurting for the cost of cue balls? NO!!!
Do I think they are banning phenolic tips becouse of the damage they do to cue balls and the cost THEY ar encurring? NO!!!
Do I think they are making this rule for an exact reason. YES!!!
Lets ask what exactly the BCAPL is doing with there used tables.
Then lets talk about sponsorship, Diamond tables, Aramith balls, and you think thier paying retail? These companys that are mainstays in the industry are who they are through a good product and a great buisness sense,They normally supply tabels and balls for nationals which later get sold over cost and under retail.
An aramith cue ball at retail is 41.95 at msrp. Lets call it 40 for simplicity. Then thats through distribution so the whole sale is around 20. That means that manufacturing costs are probably around 10 dollars a ball. This is a very rough understanding and to be honest is a little one sided in favor of the manufacturer.
Also didnt the BCAPL raise their fees this year?
I think that the BCAPL is given equipment and then the equipment is then resold above cost and even if they have to throw antoher cue ball in at 10 dollars whats the big deal when your already spending 4,000 dollars for a used table that cost 2500 to produce?
This information is to the best of my ability and as far as I can tell holds an honest buisness standard. I hope to be proven wrong. BCAPL I jsut want to undersand...
