BCAPL membership fee will be $15 for the new league year ... which starts June 1

This is absolutely the nittiest thing I've ever read.

The price didn't change for TWELVE YEARS. You got away with the same DIRT CHEAP price since 1997. And it's still 5 bucks cheaper than my vnea league and a lot of others.

There is almost NOTHING worth having that has stayed the same price for that long. They should have raised it years ago, just to keep up with inflation. Most businesses are going to reevaluate prices every year or two... the last time these guys did, OJ and Timothy McVeigh were in court.

Yes, we're in a recession. That's why these guys need to raise prices. Please stop being a dink and pay the extra 5 bucks. And donate another 5 on top of that since you're in the cheapest league out there, and pool needs your support.

If you think this thread is Nitty go back and search some of his other threads. LOL You can search under PoolSleuth (which is his banned name) or CocoboloCowboy which is the name he currently posts under.

The dumbest thing about this thread is that he doesn't even play leagues and has stated he won't play in them. He is whining/complaining/*****ing about something that doesn't even effect him. I have said it before and I will say it again. He is a SPOM.

To try and take something good out of this thread, which can be hard, we now know that in this tough economy the BCA is charging it's players a small $5 fee per player per league. And with this money, they are looking to expand what is already the greatest pool tournament in the world and add additional events around the country. They are also looking for the players to offer suggestions as to what events we might want to see.

The BCAPL has taken over many state BCA tournaments including Arizona's this year. This can only be a good thing for the players.

I agree.

I know its only $5, but this league I run has never had a sanctioned in the past it was always voted down big time. So I told the players this past season was the only way I was going to run this league from now if it was sanctioned. Now the players in my league will see it as a 50% increase in sanctioning fees.
Bnall time will tell how you player like the new fee structure, and as I said I only share an e-mail i got from the BCAPL, so blame them for having me on their e-mail list.

Yeah it is totally their fault for YOU signing up for their email list. Shame on them.

CC keeps referencing the Valley and I just assumed he was an AZ resident.

If not, I apologize to all the wonderful folks and players in that great state.

Trust me Tom, I live in the Valley of the Sun, and have most of the Arizona Pool Posse on my "IGNORE LIST" because IMHO they are brain dead, and I just added another one I forgot about.

Like I said if you want to flame any one flame the BCSPL as i was only post a verbatim e-mail I got from BCAPL.

Mistake?

Must be a mistake.

If BVal is correct and you don't even play in a league, then how did you get it?

I'm a BCAPL member and I didn't get it. It does say "Dear BCAPL League Operator",....so then you must be a LO. Just looking out out for the downtrodden and the weak....right?

No, you're just stirring up crap so you have something to read

Jmho

Having the BCA take your state tourney will be a benefit.

The guys and gals at Bad Boy productions run a first class event and provide grat tables and lighting. They ran our state tourney this year and I heard nothing but good things from the players.

If they use that software program they had at Nationals, that thing is the S**t.

Then CoCo can sit at home and track match-by-match all the people he's put on his ignore list

I got the email too but could care less.. It certainly did not seem to be a big enough deal to post it on the forum. And I ACTUALLY do play in the league. No complaints here, it's well worth it to me!! Some folks will moan about anything!!

Woke to this e-mail.

Dear BCA Pool League Operator,

Thank you for your overwhelming support of the 33rd Annual BCAPL National 8-Ball Championships ... known as the “The Greatest Pool Tournament in the World!” We hosted over 6,900 amateur players, 2 televised international pro events, 3 live internet video feeds, and CTS tournament software with live on-line charts (an industry first).

We also want to thank you for sharing your success with us for the 2008/2009 league year. We currently support 60,441 members in 458 leagues, in 46 states, 7 Canadian provinces, the Bahamas, Portugal, and Spain.

We have some great plans for the future of the league. To properly serve your many requests for more and bigger events, the BCAPL membership fee will be $15 for the new league year ... which starts June 1 (next Monday). We wrestled through some long and hard planning sessions before settling on the fee increase. In the end, we listened to our League Operators and to our own mission statement: “More choices for all players.”

The existing fee has been a constant for the last 12 years and the increase will allow us to offer more money and more events for all your players. Now, we need you to step up with suggestions for future tournaments, and ideas for special events. With your input, we can help bring a state or regional event to your area.

Thank you once again, and please forward your questions and suggestions to info@playCSIpool.com or call (702) 719-7665.

CSI ... more choices for all players.

First off, I have a question for you. Do you even play on a BCA league? Did you go to the BCA National in Vegas this May?
Ok, that was 2 questions lol.
Wow!!! Your league fees have not changed in 12 years? You should be praising the BCA for keeping their rates the same for sooooo long. A $15 membership fee for the whole year does not seem out of line to me, most leagues charge much more. Maybe you need to shop around. JMHO

Like I said if you want to flame any one flame the BCSPL as i was only post a verbatim e-mail I got from BCAPL.

But you didnt only post a verbatim email you got from the BCAPL. You added the reply below and put a thumbs down on your original post.

I thought it was only 10, but my you League operator was skimming. Now my question is why the 50% INCREASE in the middle of a Recession.:(

Here - I googled and found a new site for you to hang out on. http://www.freestuffhotdeals.com/

I can tell you this..........we are starting our new league and a $15.00 annual membership doesn't leave much, if any profit for Mark and his operation. I know for a fact Mark and his team are a select group that are not greedy but are trying to elevate the billiards industry.........I say lets support anyone that is trying to do this, espically for only $5.00.

Reminds me of that Chris Rock character from SNL:

$5 ? GOOD LORD!!!! How's about I give you two pieces of used chalk and a cigarette butt I found in the ashtray?

I have a better $5 quote....Eddie Murphy, Beverly Hills Cop (when asked to pay $5 for a soda in a loud club):

"$5? $5? I can get b___ed for $5"

The BCAPL in the best league in the world!!!
I definately dont mind the additional $5.00.:)

I think some people, unfortunately, whine and complain just to whine and complain.

Coco,

Im not going to personally attack you because I dont know you, but it seems you have nothing better to do, and thats very sad to me.
Maybe you should think about joining. You might just love the Vegas tourney.

How cheap is CHEAP?

Being a 'Hollander' myself......we are known for being 'frugal' ;) I just had to laugh to myself this morning when I read this thread. Plenty of people would probably call me cheap, and I can find many I would call cheap....
but this is a whole new level...... lol..... and it reminds me of a funny story
relayed to me some time ago.

There was this portly fellow..... we'll call him Elmer..... and his team went to the yearly tourney in Las Vegas one year. One evening while there, the team went to a buffet for dinner..... it was 'all you can eat'.... and when it came time for desert Elmer proceeded to have a piece of every kind of pie there was, AND back for seconds, AND...... So after quite some amount of yummy deserts he starts to slow WAY down because he is starting to feel ill from all the confectious treats. Everyone joined in saying to him to STOP EATING................... He said he couldn't .......
because with each piece eaten, the next was CHEAPER.

It takes ALL KINDS to make the world go round................ :grin-square:
