Anyone else get stiffed by InsidePool Magazine?

a couple of defenders of them and a whole bunch of people saying they got screwed here. who do you believe. maybe the people that say they are legit will do the calling and get them to personally reply to the thread and make things right. promptly.

You should be reading billiards digest anyways. I like it better and in all the years ive subscribed ive never had a single problem with them. In fact the pile up faster than i can read them (playing to much pool i guess)

Most magazines (and I suspect InsidePool is the same) do not make their money on their subscriptions but rather on their ad sales. So I can promise that they are not trying to "doop" you out of your money. They donate lots of free issues to many of the regional tours and associations all the time. Not EVERYTHING on this forum has to be made into a scandal.

good post cris but its spelled "dupe" not "doop" Im not trying to be the grammer police but I thought doop was funny.:D doop, doop, doop. I smile just thinking about it. doop doop doop.

I signed up many years ago in Vegas for a multi-year subscription and began receiving magazines without issue within a month or so.

When I recently moved in December, for some reason, the post office did not forward on the new address as they normally do. A representative from Inside Pool called me on my cell to find out why the magazines were being returned. She corrected my address and I received the next month's issue.

I have not received the most recent releases and used the contact page of Inside Pool, completing and sending the form provided. That was May 11th with no response back, however, I am sure that I will just give them a call when I remember and there will not be a problem. My subscription is probably just up and I didn't realize it. :)

At Valley Forge, I also signed up for magazine subscriptions. Except for the free premiums as enticement for on the spot sign up(T-shirt and Pro Skills 4 DVD (where is nick varner)), I don't recall receiving anything yet. Maybe its industry wide practice.

I'll have to subscribe to this thread so I don't forget about it. I just signed up for a one scrip at the recent BCA Nationals.

At least my t-shirt still fits. ;)

Did you try to call them before you decided to come on here and try to crucify them?

Really? Crucify them? I asked if anyone else didn't get their subscription. I also stated that I tried contacting them. You might want to switch to decaf.

By the sounds of it.. I'm not alone and they have some genuine customer service issues. I'm sure JR & Sally are nice people, but as business people they need to do some restructuring of their business. In this time of tight economics, a company cannot afford to have a bad reputation.

Thank you for your input Cris. I have to comment on your statement about magazines getting the bulk of their money from advertisers and not so much from subscribers. Advertisers put their ads in the magazine to reach customers. Customers that are reading the magazine. But if the magazine isn't making it to the customer's hands.. well, that's a wasted investment for the advertiser. Eventually, they will pull their ads and invest in a more dependable magazine.

After reading this i just thought about it and i to have not recieved andy magazines since march. So i called today and was told they are running behind cause this issue is a double issue this month, then i just remembered i to renewed my subscription at valley forge , and i told the lady this to, she said it was renewed, but i have not gotten any magazines sinnce march, so something is wrong on tere part one way or the other , <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

When mine was up they actually called me with special rate to renew but I told them I was not interested . I find Billiards Digest much better and they give u 12 issues - but if I paid for one year or two and got nothing there must be some agency you can complain to - btw - even Trudeau mails out if u order from him even tho it is bulshaloney.

I signed up for the first copy and have been getting all of them, from the begining through today, on time and with address changes made. I can't join the army of complainers but I sure don't blame any of you from complaining bitterly. I know I dammed sure would make a big fuss.... like Voodoo standing in from of their booth and 'splainin' things to them. I like that picture.

ive always though billiards digest was better anyways. Im sure that inside pool is just behind, I dont think theyre trying to "doop" anyone into spending money. Its an honest mistake I believe but thats still no excuse. pool is a niche market as it is and things like this dont help.

They totally saw you coming. I heard them say, 'look at that big dude. Watch this', and we know the rest of the story...

Just to show ya how true this statement is, here is the story. I was sitting IN the Inside Pool booth with Fred Agnir while Timberly was taking a break. I filled the form out, handed Fred the $20 and thought it was a done deal. Its not the $20, nor the magazine but the principal. Plus...how many other folks have been "overlooked"?

Inside Pool Mag.

I was ripped of from them and there online store a few years back. I ordered a $52 Action Sneaky Pete for my nephew for his birthday and NEVER received it nor did they respond to ANY of my emails...

Rather then reporting them to the B.B.B, I just chalked it up as lesson learned and vowed i would NEVER deal with them again.

he's right man! it's like you're driving nails right through his hands...lol.

naw i'm just joking. you're right and he's seems like he's being too dramatic about this thread. especially since you're not the only one having a problem

Here is what I will do since Inside Pool makes their money off advertising and not subscriptions, so this should be no big deal to their subscription department -

Inside Pool can send me a year's worth of magazines - after a year has gone by and I have received all of my magazines on time, I will pay for my subscription.

We can continue under the same requirements each year.

Inside Pool reps feel free to contact me here by PM to get my address.

"Crucify" was a little melodramatic but this forum has a mob mentality more times than not and when someone posts something negative about a company, people jump on the bandwagon, including people that haven't actually had any dealings with the company. I was just asking if you had tried all possible interactions before saying something negative about a company.

I'm not the only one who see's it this way.

Not EVERYTHING on this forum has to be made into a scandal.

That is because you haven't had problems with them I now consider myself fortunate in not having trouble with them - apparently when there is a problem it is not solved - the individual who lost $55 / $52 - should have contacted BB - to report mail fraud - and where is the mob mentality a question was asked if there were problems encountered with this publication and people responded - apparently more with problems .

so where are they with their explanation. the silence is deafening.

i guarantee they know about this thread by now.

I paid $35 (or $36) for a year subscription at DCC and then I have received March and April. Haven't got for May yet, and now we are in June.

I didn't think there could be any problems, and was sure that it was lost in mail or just late, but after reading this thread I will drop them an email and ask them when I can expect my May-edition.

Roy - likes the magazine
