Something good may come of this after all

Since some of you honored posters think that due to my advanced age, I need a handicap from Jasmin, I'll take it. Heres my proposal, I'll play her for $4,000 in september in the accu-stats studio. You "smarts" make a fair game to be me getting 160 balls going to 500. That seems fair to me and its a win-win for her because if she loses, she can always say she was giving up too much weight.
If this is going to be done, I need to know very quickly, because I need a month of practice. I propose further that Pat tape the match, and pay us a percentage of the sales. I further suggest that the loser get the gate from the 300 seat arena.
I get to pick table and pocket size, and I'm by no means sure what I would select. Whatever it is, Ill make sure she gets at least two days practice. I also may have PPV capability by then.
I'm ready. Are you?

If your getting 160 balls to 500 I am in for $1000, I do not believe you will get that though. I am doubtful she will play even either since it is a gambling match, but if 2 sides put up say $5000 each and the winner were to get say half of the $5000 won then it could be considered an exhibition maybe. :D If Pat is broadcasting it he could do it PPV but IMO you would be better off doing it free for viewers as it might have a large audience and charge sponsors for the exposure. ;)

lmao, one guy says in jest that Grady would need 160 balls and both Barton and Grady run with it and act like everone on the boards wanted to stake Jasmin giving 160 balls. Good Comedy.

Why don't you just play her a straight up race to 500? Let's recap: Jasmin didn't belong in the tournament but Grady needs 160 balls? Am I missing something here?

Pardon me for asking this, and I mean no disrespect to anyone with this:

Grady, you feel that you warrant an invitation to the 14.1 tournament, which to me says you think you can compete with anyone in that field straight up, correct? All of us have said that you deserve to be in the field. IT WAS YOU that said Jasmin should never have received an invite, and have further questioned her skills (which is OK according to John Barton, as that is from a pro regarding another pro) at 14.1. If anything, YOU should be giving up weight to her. You were the one that opened your mouth and said she shouldn't be playing in the event. So, put your money where your mouth is - give her a spot and show the pool world you deserved to be there. This way, IF YOU LOSE, you will have an excuse as to why she beat you.

That, to me, is how this should play out. If I say I deserve to be in a tournament and Dude X doesn't, I'm inferring I am better than him. I cannot then call out Dude X to play me for cash AND spot me, too. Kind of counterproductive in trying to prove your point.

Again, no disrespect intended. This is playground rules. If you call someone out (which you did regarding Jasmin), you don't get to ask for a headstart.

LOL Grady, is all i can say.

You start off by saying you should be invited to the World Championships, and now you want 160 spot from jasmin. LOL

you do know the 14.1 tourny is not haddicapped right?

Please stop the rediculousness.
Your a legend of the game, reading this type of stuff from you just makes me sad.

Its like when jordan came back and played for the wizards. He was a shell of himself and was just tough to watch.

It's not Jasmin, it's Yu Ram Cha that's the target of the angst

Folks:

I'm not sure Grady (or even John Barton) was calling out Jasmin. I think the target of the "doesn't-have-to-qualify-but-I-do??" angst was directed at Yu Ram Cha. Her use of a jump cue in the last straight pool event is evidence of her "doesn't have to be there" status.

This obviously won't happen, but no one here should fault Grady for hearing people suggest getting that kinda weight and running with it. Granted it wasn't Jasmin that stated it. How many times have you been in a pool hall or here and someones "friend/counter part" over blows a handicap trying to make a game that their buddy wasn't trying to make?

It just sounds like a pool hall in here, but because the woofing is in writing people get their panties in a bunch and make a big deal out of it.

Settle at a 100 balls andget the show on the road....or make it a grind fest and give old Grady 200 balls and go to a 1000, with a 10-15 minute break every 2 hours. That's the kind of straight pool I like anyway where someone gets worn out and their brain turns to mush and all they can do is play on instinct and subliminal memory. THATS WHAT I WANT TO SEE! In a race that long 200 balls is like giving the 8 and the last 3 up...DO IT!!!

Oh and if they do this I'm gonna bet on Grady. She hasn't been alive long enough to know how to win, only way she can win is if Grady dogs it and misses balls he's supposed to make. Other than that...easy money.

Grady, I didn't want to bring this up. Jasmin stayed with me last night. We are on our way to your poolroom as we speak. You get 50 going to 500 for $2000. Ready yet?

Oh shi#. Sorry, I drifted off a bit. This Hydrocodone for my back, along with the Flexeril makes me drift off. Sorry about that.

Grady, Grady Grady...

Right now I just feel enourmous pity for you.

You make a complete fool of yourself, and you do it very good, and it's embarrasing to watch...

This is like watching a train-wreck, there's absolutely nothing I can do to stop it but I can't help watching.

Geeze...

Hey Roy, what do geeze have to do with it? And, what type of geeze are we talking about? Canadian Geeze? Snow Geeze? (What types of geeze do you have in Norway?)

I think geeze are very proud birds (it's a shame to even call them "fowl") and don't deserve to be in this thread. :p

(Sorry, couldn't resist. Trying to right this ship and inject a little levity into this thread.)

Besides the fact that he stated the loser gets the gate from the 300 seat arena. I am sure that he wants to charge $20 to watch, then when he loses he gets $6,000 (net $2,000) and Jasmin gets the net of $4,000.

Yep - that is gambling.

LMAO,This site is the best. Now,If only we could get Joe Rogan to come on this thread and finish off this comedy routine.
