This is a hard world we live in now. I post intelligently and truthfully and these baboons ignore the evidence I so painstakingly present and take things out of contex and label me a bitter old man.
Just read my current threads and it should be evident what I mean. They say really nasty things and imply others and it's just not fair.

One more thing

When I make an offer I always back it up with cash. I thought that jerk-off was seriously offering me a 160 ball spot. So I came home from work ready to work out the details.
Look how skillfully this sick a hole drew me onto his web. I was going to be excoriated no matter what I said. If I had said I declined to play, they would've lit into me again just from a different angle.
Anyway, if you decide to tell me to leave, I've for the most part had a good time here.

This is a public forum. You can't seriously expect everyone to agree with you. I read two threads you started and I did see some borderline insulting posts but the majority were good arguments made by many members of this board. Your right this is a hard world to live in. You shouldn't let a couple rude people keep you down.

What was your expecation for this topics? What wer you hoping to achieve?
 
Maybe you should take a step back to see the whole picture. You've taken your exclusion from the tournament very personally even though it's the fourth time. You've also taken some differences of opinion very personally even though you shouldn't have. In my opinion some of the things said so far haven't been outright nasty, but an escalation of words between you and the various posters.

They aren't picking at you, they just disagree....there is always going to be someone that disagrees with you....

As far as the spot/160 balls, people get on here and argue spots and games all day long until they are blue in the face, and 99% of those games never, ever come to reality....

There is no need for you to leave or get frustrated or apologize or any of that.....you posted a sincere position....some people agreed, some didn't....many posted valid points one way or the other.....at least you got some input from your supporters on why they think you should have gotten a slot....you also got some imput from other that gave their opinion on maybe why you didn't or shouldn't have gotten a spot...

It's just opinions.....it's highly likely that the majority of dissenters likely have a lot of respect for your history and knowledge - they just happen to disagree regarding the invitation...and truth be told, you kinda did come across as someone who posted an opinion on an open forum, yet didn't want to hear anything contrary to your own opinion....

It sounds like you are one of the pool elite....sounds like you have your own room, you do great things for the game, and lead a damn good life.....so people disagree, so what....people disagree all the time.....let it go.....no need to make a big exit or hail the Wilson.....if ya need, take a break, think it over, and then come back.....there are always a ton of great topics here and probably plenty of people that would love to have some insight from you on those posts...

Good luck, I truly hope you can just take the input for what it is and be happy with all the great things you have......I didn't get the impression people wanted to insult you, they just don't agree....

Another good argument would be to take this to its ultimate logical conclusion, as I posted previously.

What good would it be to convince the populace of the swimming pool gathering place, known as AZBilliards? Ok, so some readers here may be convinced that Grady should've received an invite. OK, now what? We can't do crappola about it. Unfortunately, gripes and complaints about the situation here, on these forums, are roughly analogous to "Please cry for me Argentina" requests.

Now, on the other hand, if an open letter were written to the "Big Three" pool publications -- Billiards Digest, Inside Pool, and Pool and Billiards magazines, that might go just a wee bit farther towards a resolution, rather than a fruitless battle cry or call to arms to minions that bear no arms.

Just my humble opinion, no disrespect ever intended to such a legendary figure as Grady,

I would say something else BUT I was taught to respect my elders.Grady,we all respect what you have done for pool and your accomplishments BUT if we as forum members,who frequent this forum alot more than you, CAN'T have an opinion then maybe YOU should leave.

Any poster who cannot see from the evidence I have presented that Charlie Williams is awful for our sport, I just don't think I could ever be your friend.That being said I permanently withdraw any desire or request to play in anything Charlie or the UPA does.

As you can see Grady, the low-lifes just can't keep their mouths shut. They have to be insulting to everybody.

Indeed, you and a lot of others aswell. There comes a time to just let it go. Boycott his tournaments and get others too also. I never understood why his tournament means so much to you. Pool is in flux right now. Not on the brink of distinction as some want to think so they can complain about something. Will professional pool ever see a single entity running things like it should?? Who knows, however the fractured state it is in now is not good. It's time for all involved to put put their teeny egos to bed and start working to put pool back together.

You wouldn't stop driving because some schmuck cut you off would you?? The whole of AZB would be much less without our past and present champions of which you are surely a member.

Keep the good vibes going and hopefully you'll attract some more. Hope to hear you doing some more commentating and/or telling war stories here. As for those whom you have written off, sometimes you have to agree to disagree and leave it there.

I agree about Charlie,but at least he is doing something for pool and putting money in players pockets that otherwise would'nt happen these days.
It seems the pro players are split about Mr Williams and his business antics.Kudo's to the ones on his side, which seem to be all his friends.(not right).But as a player,what do you do?money or no money.

I am one of the poster who have a different opinion than you. I don't believe my posts were nasty though. I feel the need to clarify/qualify my opinion:

Do I respect you - Absolutely! I believe what you have done for pool is nothing short of amazing and that you need to be inducted in the Hall of Fame. You've been one of my favorites for a long time.

Do I believe you should be invited to the World 14.1 Championship - Unfortunately I do not. Just like I don't believe some of politically motivated invites by Charlie Williams. To me, only the champions of the last 5 years (maybe last 10 years) should recieve an invite. ALL others should qualify.

Do I think Charlie Williams is bad for pool - I believe his action are appaulling. The whole room key incident and entering Marissa's room univited is borderline psychotic. The Sarah Rousey incident just confirmed my feelings for him. The issue is, how do we correct this problem? He's made all the political moves to get where he is and everybody will continue to participate in his tournaments. Even on this board, he is the only one allowed to post his tournamaent announcements in the main forum...

I hope this explains my position better. I do have the utmost respect for you.

Isn't this the real reason you are complaining here on AZ Billiards. You think Charlie is an A**hole and you want everbody to know it. Its not about playing in the 14.1 tournament at all.

I am certain you and Charlie will never kiss and makeup. Take a lesson from John Schmidt who said (as close as I could remember):

"I would rather get ate by a goat and get sh*t off a cliff than put a dollar in his pocket"

This is what you should do with Charlie and his tournaments since you feel that way about him. I know a few people who I feel that way about and believe me they will never get any action from me. I don't give a sh*t if they became blind and wanted to play. I still wouldn't give them the opportunity to even have a chance at my money.

You are welcome to post anything you want to on here, controversial or not. That is what makes the forum turn, the fact that people can debate topics in the pool world. You have to understand that people will have differing views on different subjects and take that for what it is and not view it as anythig personal where you have to ignore them or discount their opinion as drivel.

I can't stand Charlie Williams and will be the first to call him out for all the things he's done to embarass the sport and himself, but the fact remains that it is his tour and his supporters and they are gonna run it exactly how they want.

Now, like I said, you are more than welcome to go on berating Charlie and this tourney, but why not try another approach since this one has obviously not worked in the 3 times you've tried it. IMO.
