Old brunswick bumper feeler

Over the years I have had a lot of people at shows ask me if I had any brown bumpers. Upon checking into it with rubber companies, the mold cost to duplicate that bumper and production would be 6 -7000 $ so I have decided to build my own mold out in the shop. we have been working on the color to match the old brunswick color. As you can see in the pictures the new bumpers are tall just like the brunswick bumpers. I am trying to duplicate them the best i can. I have heard that the original ones are selling up too$100. If anyone is interested please let me know. We are not making a high production of these maybe 50-70 bumpers at one time the mold has 55 cavities. I am going to do my best to 100% duplicate the old bumpers.

I would like to hear your feedback on this.

mike i bought some of these there not even close to the old brunswick rubbers there moretan then brown.....they are a nice rubber but there are poeple out there that like the darker bigger ones like brunswick made

I got a few dark brown ones from a cuemaker that uses them on his cues. I'll only use them on a Balabushka style cue. Otherwise, I highly prefer black...at roughly 1/20th the cost! I'm not knocking anyone who makes brown, blue or pink bumpers available BTW.

The originals are worth about 30.00 each, I got that info from a very reliable source, I have seen a few, sell for more, 50 to 60 each. I kept my mouth shut cause no one wins a pissing contest here. As for the others at 10.00 each, It's an investment like anything else, you have to be reimbursed for your time and effort, (Business) People think I'm crazy for what I have invested in taps and dyes, but when I need them, their in arms reach. Back in the day, before Internet, if you needed something special, You had it made or didn't do the job. Who's to say.

You are right, for new work I can't see what anyone would pay that much. If you were trying to match an old Balabushka, who used that bumper I could see it. Then again, how many old Balabushka's are out there that need bumpers. Not that many cue makers even use that bumper today. Most like the press in plug type. I am not sure I would invest any money to make them, there doesn't seem there would be a market.

All you had to do was say "Well now there is another source for people to try". Instead you take a shot at a fellow AZ poster and merchant. Who, by the way, I have to assume whose idea you stole in the first place.

Pretty low class in my book.

I was wondering if anyone else felt the way that I do about this... I'm all for competition and capitalism and all, but Lee knows that Fischer JUST finished producing his... I'm just saying that if it were me, I would have the courtesy to wait a while and let the guy make his investment back before I tried to rip the rug out from under him. This is, after all, a pretty small community. Just my own opinion. I'm sure some will disagree.

as i mentioned i started this long before he even thought of these rubbers
and there many poeple that know that!!! it seems every time i say or do something your there trying to start trouble . these are a differant product all together hand made not production made and 5.00 is a very fair price for something like this if i were looking for production rubbers of any color .050 is what most sell those for.

Sounds familiar.... like when you started to sell "tip presses" right after Rocket did....

And the whole break cue fiasco . . .
If this was in the works way before Fischer's, then the timing of your offering just seems really suspect. I have no horse in the race, but the whole thing sits bad with me.

In the end, this may help Mr Fischer more so, as After reading this thread, I just decided to buy some from him. I have a few zebrawood cues I'm building that a brown will look good on. No offence meant towards Lee, just I have to agree with the others that timing and comments count.
