Rock on Earl

When Earl is "ON" he's my favorite player to watch.

Earl has been practicing quite a bit lately, and it shows in the tournaments he has played this summer. He practices at Gate City Billiards in Greensboro if you want ot see the legend.

Thanks for the link, Mrs. G.!

Earl still has a little fire power left in the jug! Make no mistake about it! ;)

No offense to that field but Earl is "supposed" to win against all of them. He is a 5 time world champ, multi-time US Open champ, ran 11 racks straight for 1 mil, he is a legend and noone else in that field has an even shot at beating him. If Orcullo won that tourney it would not be news, IMO it is not news Earl took it down either. He is way too good for us to start celebrating him winning little local events with second and third tier players.

The players he beat are excellent, I don't think you know what you are talking about. They may not be world champs, but how many world champs are there.

Earl needs the work. The Pearl has a bulls-eye painted on his back wherever he goes.

In three weeks he will facing his nemesis, Efren Reyes in a Challenge Match in Galveston, Texas.
I hope he comes prepared. I know Efren is getting in his "practice".

I hope the streamers can mic the players

There are not alot, but Earl is most definately one and caused alot of others to "not" be a world champ.

Honestly, I understand the motivation for this thread, I am a Earl fan too. I just find it almost disrespectful and somewhat desperate to flag wave a 24 man field win like this for a man like that. I am of the mind that we will sooner or later have a flashback from Earl and have a real reason to cheer when he beats alot of his peers like Archer, Pagulayan, Orcullo, ect... The guy won multiple world championships, we don't need to fall to the point of posting a thread every time he runs a 3 pack now, if anything that discredits Earl and his past achievements and makes it seem like this win on this thread is some kind of a special moment for him now in this stage of his career, for his sake I had to post because I disagree.

I understand your point, but it's easy to discredit the field if you've never watched them play. Yes, Earl's win comes as no surprise, but these are short races and anything can happen (yes, sometimes that does need to be said). With Ussery, Monday, and Bennett (who beat him in the hot seat match and the finals in June, I think it was), who are all exceptionally good players, in the field, Earl isn't necessarily supposed to win, especially with the mental side of his game coming into play. But he did it, so I agree with Mrs. G. Rock on, Earl. :)

Sam Monday and Jeff Abernathy both hold IPT cards and BJ kicked butt a couple years ago in the Seminole Pro Tour in Fla. And Keith Bennet is a big players that is unknown. All these guys can play and just not fortunate enough to have the backers needed to survive in the pool world.

If I do that match, I will repeat their conversations for the audience.

I have to get my Tagalog Rosetta Stone software for Efren and I'm from the South so I won't have any trouble with Earl's words. :D

I expect this to be a competitive and professional match in all respects from two great champions.

I expect each to be a gentleman, especially with so many watching. Earl likes to talk to the crowd, and has a tendencyto say things that are off the wall.

I wonder if they streamed it. I watched Earl get his other first place on that tour a while back on a stream. He was playing pretty close to the Earl of old and seemed to be enjoying himself.

I'd love to be there to see that match live. Is it going to be streamed on the internet?
