What a comeback. One of the best I've seen live and definitely the best I've seen in my limited viewing of 14.1. That guys has some heart, huh?

I just got back from being out all day and it was great to read the thread and get update by update. Still very exciting just reading it.

Thank you to all for the updates this week.

1000 thx sde...you know someone does a great job when you're getting more and more excited paging through the thread.

Great job Cohen...whoever the heck you are lol.

I just got in and was very happy to have your blow by blow!! thank you so much!

Congrats to both players on a great match, and what a comeback YIKES!!

Danny D called me up after the match was over and he was overcome with joy. His student from France where Danny teaches occasionally won the match and was crowned World Champ. So happy for Cohen and Danny.

Congratulations to Cohen and also to Danny since I am sure he felt it as his own victory too. Let's face it, Stephan can play a bit ;)

I am sorry for Mika, he is a beast playing but got unlucky/anxious at the end. I am sure he will win this title in the near future.

I think Cohen acknowledged Danny's instruction in the post game interview.
Danny said he taught him over there many years ago and that Stephan even visited Danny in Florida for more lessons.

SJM and I were discussing how so many of the new players have not learned from the old masters and that a lot of 14.1 knowledge will be gone. He mentioned Danny D., Allen Hopkins, Rempe, Dallas West as being some of the repositories of 14.1 Wisdom. We should all do our best to get this information before it is gone.

Yeah, Ray Martin and Nick Varner were a couple of others I mentioned, too.

Cohen showed a good feel for the table all week, and was the ultimate grinder. In the quarterfinals, Tony Robles had a 100 ball lead on him and he made back to back runs of over 50 to catch him. Mika, too, led by over 100, and Cohen came back with three diffierent runs over 50 to catch him.

Cohen's story is a hearwarming one, and I was among the many who wondered how a French player had so much 14.1 knowledge. When I learned, during his victory speech, that he had been mentored by DiLiberto, however, that explained everything.

It was nice seeing you again, Dennis.

TY zilla and now you know why I spend so little time in the chatroom yesterday.

I had one laptop ported to a TV to watch the video full screen and using the other laptop for chatting and posting. It worked out great with wireless mouse and keyboard to just sit back on the couch and type away.

Steve
