Wow, that is neato pateeto!

The price to see the livestream is right too! ;)

Does $5,000 challenge match mean that the players are putting up $5,000 each and the winner takes all or are the promoters putting up $5,000 and the players playing for it?

IMO one is a challenge match and one is an exhibition. Just trying to figure which is going off here.

I would like to know too. I would bet on this but will not bet unless they are playing for their own cash. You are right Justin, if somebody is putting up the money then it is simply an exhibition in which case usually both players will make a saver or even simply just agree to split the money. Tough to bet on an exhibition.

I'm not positive about this but I think the match is sponsored by the promoters but the winner gets 3750 and the loser gets 1250. I haven't checked on any of that but that is what I heard although I could be wrong.

Do the TAR match players have sponsors who put up the challenge match prize money or do the players put up the money?

thanks,

joeyA

Justin may want to correct me but most have backers in this scenario as it is just like any other gambling session. Unless of course your name is Bartram then it's usually your own cash. Still a huge difference in a match where money from each side is put up as opposed to an exhibition where promoter money is put in the middle with none from either side.

Bergman bet his own as well, not the entire 10K but a nice piece of it - as have others now and in the future.

yes, that's really the only way I'll do business with someone is if they are willing to bet some of their own, as it should be.

Hi, JAM:smile: OK, I missed the joke..:frown: what's so funny?

Hi, Sunnyday.

What is funny to me is the diplomatic way that JoeyA formed the inquiry. JoeyA has always been an excellent communicator. It must be that Southern charm.

Hehe, either way, it would be a treat for the fans and players to watch the event.

The Promoters are putting up the cash. The winner will get 65% and the loser will get 35%

In this scenario the player are playing for 30% or $1,500.00. with the promoters putting up $5,000.

I am reminded of a wise Army general who once said that he knew a fairly large number of people in the Army, including a large number of general officers, very few of whom he considered dumb. There were a few but only a very few. Most of them were intelligent people. However, most of them in private will admit, paraphrasing, "This is a millstone around our neck. We should have dumped this turkey years ago. The game was not worth the gamble, but it kept marching on and developed a life of its own."

Everyone seems to like Dennis. What can I get in odds/hcp if I take Shane?

Roy,
You always are willing to take the worst of it. It's a wonder how you ever win a bet.

You are like the grasshopper who never saves anything for tomorrow. :frown:

I'm just concerned about you spending your inheirtance too quickly.

Best Regards,

JoeyA
