I need to thank the people that took the time to bring me up to speed on what appears to be an unfortunate chain of events. Thanx Guys.
Mr. Helfert, I believe I now have a better understanding as to why you asked your question. Again, my apology Sir.
I've only spoken with Mr. Patrick on the phone so I don't know him personally but at the same time, I believe him to be a stand-up guy and will do the right thing if allowed the opportunity to do so. I don't believe for one minute that Doug would have brought this mishap to the forum if he'd had ANY intention of taking the buyer off. That just doesn't make sense.
Doug has apparently made several offers to make the deal right with a couple of other cues but it seems that the buyer only wants cash and he wants it now. That IS unfortunate.
I'm also somewhat taken aback by the 'piling-on' atmosphere going on in the other thread. That's totally uncalled for IMO as the resulting consequences could be far more damaging than the $1,200 involved. He was found guilty in the first post and slammed from then on. There's not a man here that would say that it was right or fair. People, please give the man the opportunity to do what is right. I'm sure it's no treat dealing with the client he has either.
Sorry to have stuck my nose in where it surely didn't belong. KJ
