JoeyA - what to do?

I am in Galveston now, and for days JoeyA has been pretending to being eager to play me some one-pocket and get his hands on some of my hard earned dollars.

Joey has been playing one-pocket every day for 30 years now, my one-pocket experience is approxomately in the area of once having looked at a picture of a guy playing one-pocket - nobody plays this game in Norway.

Now Joey is not answering my calls, he is not responding to my text messages, he didnt show up for our 11am appointment today. I was all dressed up and ready to donate, I am a guest in this country and want to contribute.

What should I do? Am I missing something or is this just a way of wearing out your opponents? Jay, any input?

Maybe he is sleeping, he was in the booth this morning at around 2ish.
He was in there all night announcing great games with either Billy
Incardona and or Jeremy(the voice) Jones.

It rocked if you missed it. I heard there was a starbucks there,
maybe if you bought his some he might play you some.

Opppps Joey is back in the booth right now doing the wheelchair games.

Better watch the old crafty guy..probally putting u on ice the way they use to call it.so when ya'll finally do meet up..u will have ur nose open & go flat off..lol....j/k...i'd have to agree with the sleeping in theory.

Ah.... Joey is now using Jay's strategy, and is running away and hiding from you untill he is ready.

Even though I was being nice to him and played him one-pocket, his preferred game, all the time, I had to literally hunt him all week long at DCC to finally get him to man up and play a set of 9-ball.

My prediction is that he will approach you when he has rested, had a decent meal and practiced for some hours knowing he is in "the zone". At that time you are dead tired of hunting him all over the place, and he will make you fall asleep of making it into a long uptable-battle that he will easily win...

Joey "the Hustler" Aguzin knows what he is doing

He is probably exhausted from putting being in the booth all week! BTW - Joey you are going a great job... Way to go!

Btw, did you get a chance to play John Henderson? I am still sad that I didn't get a chance to play him at DCC, and I guess he is sad also because he didn't get a chance to take my money :D

Have you matched up with someone else? Efren? Give us some details!!!

Me thinks that now that JoeyA has reached celebrity status with his fine commentating he cannot be seen associating with the likes of us. He now can only hob-nob with the elite like Jeremy J, Billy I, Charlie B, Nick V, Danny H and the like. We will have to wait til he comes back down to earth.

HELLO! He's a little busy in case you hadn't noticed. He has been working on every internet show so far. And doing a damn good job I might add. By the way, He's probably doing you a favor anyway.

Next time post a lil no-show money with a neutural person if your feeling slighted by this unforgivable misfortune.

I mean how dare he take an opporntunity to commentate matches with the likes of Cardone, Double J and Jay Helfert? The ballz on that guy!!!

Voodoo~~~BigSteve1Pocket on da ustream

I knew Joey would do a good job in the box. But when Jim Wych took off then Joey took command and picked his own partners to join him as co-commentators. How well he chose - Jay Helfert, Charlie Bryant, Billy Incardonna and particularly Jeremy Jones were all entertaining foils for The Old Grey Fox.

The timbre of his voice combined with a welter of well researched knowledge at this event have elevated him into a major league broadcaster.

Tap tap tap - he has really impressed me! He has done an awesome job. He has that strong, deep voice of a vice grandfather, and shares his knowledge almost as great as Danny D. I also enjoy how Joey asks questions, sometimes with obvious answers, just to get a nice conversation going with the other people in the booth.

I think I will rank Billy I, Danny D and Joey A as the three commentators that I prefer the most.

Now, if Joey (or Billy) could only step up to beat my friend "pooladdict" for a few games of one-pocket, everyone would be satisfied :D

Surely you didn't fall for this bit of woofing Roy. Joey and Chris have been sharing a breakfast table most of the week.

I guessed so, but Chris is paying me $ 50 to help him woof at JoeyA so they can get a game.

Chris actually said he thought he would easily earn ten times as much from JoeyA if they played some even one-pocket at $ 50 a game  True

Great quote from Jay Helfert - Joey, you were great in the box. I like to think of myself as your mentor". Nice one JH!

They both played in the one pocket with Joey going just l little bit further. But well done to both of them.

I didn't belong in this tournament. Joey did. It is a BIG mistake to try to play in a field like this with nearly no practice. Every week leading up to the event, I would tell myself it was time to get ready. Finally in the last few days before leaving I played for an hour or two and just hit balls. I knew I wasn't ready but I was already entered so I wasn't about to forfeit.

I played Tommy Tokoff first and got him down 6-3 before missing a long open shot to win the game. After he saw me dog it he never missed another ball. Tommy shoots straight and he's a good guy.

On the losers side I played Michael Hong. Again I had chances to win every game, but I never felt comfortable pulling the trigger. The first two games were long and close, going down to the last couple of balls. In the third game I started firing at flyers. He got out quick. Probably my worst showing ever in a pro tourney. But I got what I deserved based on my totally inadequate preparation.

Pool ain't easy. You can't fake it!
