Pool players with talent thats less Unfortunet

You're a good son to stick by and help your mom out. Good things will come your way, sometimes it just takes time.
Good luck.

thanks for the kind words

an i hope so i really wanna get started practicing things will go faster hopefully by then

okay kid, time for plan B

okay kid your plan A-for this ain't workin' so well.
1) you are 30-31
2) you quit school some where between the 5th and 6th grade (looking at the way that you write and type) & the education system that you quit ranks between 49-50 out of 50
3) you are living on an SSI check with your mom
4) you don't have a job
5) you don't have $
6) you don't have a car
7) you tell me you don't need to practice

+) you want a career playing pool
+) you want a better pool cue
+) you want a backer
+) you want the accolades of being a "champion" with out putting in the work

maybe you should try a plan B

go to the store:
buy a toothbrush, toothpaste, and mouthwash; then use them every morning
buy a razor, shaving cream and aftershave; then use them every morning
walk to the barbershop and buy a haircut; and go back every 3 weeks
then get out of bed before noon &
hit the main street in your town and don't come home till ya have a JOB.

JOB that thing that happens 3 shifts a day
JOB that thing that happens between 9-5 if you are a working stiff
JOB that thing that happens between sunrise and sunset if ya own the business

To date everybody has given you their support and best wishes
BUT
not a one showed up and gave you a room @ their house
not a one showed up and gave you their $ to play pool with
not a one showed up and gave you a ride to the pool room
not a one showed up and gave you a ride to a tourney
not a one showed up and gave you a new pool cue to replace that
"crapy sneeky pete"
not a one showed up and gave you a new pool table to play on

not a one wished you harm or bad luck,
and not a one is going to do this for you------

what you have been doing has NOT worked so far, maybe it is time to look at Plan B----

after you do that; your time at the table will mean more to you; and you'll be able to have that car-ride, new pool cue, pool table to practice on (oh, right you don't need that), and then when you get "out there" you'll have done it on your own!

It's good to have examples of how NOT to do things.

This is the rudest and most inconsiderate post I can remember reading. Obviously didn't take the time to read the thread.

A cue is in the mail and I am looking for a table to bring down to Eunice. I will do the work to assemble it.

Good day sir,
Marcus

was thinking the same thing. what an a$$ and only 2 posts. wow:bash:

Does someone need to change their user name to 2&Out. 8&Out, seriously man, do you even know the Robley story. The things he has gone through in his life I would not wish on my worse enemy. Robley has manned up more then most could ever possibly do.

I strongly suggest that before you assume or pass any more judgment on Robley you PM him and get his story. Believe this -- your outlook/interpretation of him will paint a whole different picture and give you a whole different outlook on this courageous young man.

With Respect,

Bob

Edit add on: Go here 8&Out -- a chip-in on your part is pretty much in order sir! http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=158637

Now this is what AZ is all about -- Marcus you are an outstanding individual.
I gotta send a big fat rep your way!

Edit: I got the nasty gram: "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to mnorwood again." Folks, green rep the heck out of Marcus. One of the shortest yet finest posts ever on AZ IMHO!

You should have paid attention to your grammar teacher.

Wow...this is a little heated thread. As far the comments made on the "plan B" idea...I do agree on the Plan B approach, I think it could be expressed with a little more tact than that. I, myself do agree that having a lifetime goal is important. But as I explain to my own son, who lives for the idea of becoming a pro BMX rider....you have to look at the percentages. There are probably 1000's of people out there that have the same dream and goal...yet a handful of people, truly ever reach that supreme goal. The thought of, there is always someone better out there, I think, really applies. Having a back up life plan( Plan B) is a smart choice. Going in head first, can result in being in a worse position, than what you started from. Having the tools for success is important. Tools for success, can and should be, in a larger view than pool alone. Just like college athlete's, with the dream of becoming a pro..etc. Coming to the table with more than one view is a wise and smart choice. I wish you well in your dream and hope nothing but the best for you and your family, but prepare for tomorrow in more ways than one, and you will be a winner at whatever you do.

hey Robley...

i just found your thread. it's true, your spelling sucks, but mine is not that great either; besides your spelling is about the same a Fatboy's and he is really cool, so don't worry about it too much!

just kidding with you so please do not be offended. i like to joke sometimes.

it was really so interesting to read your thread. and then later find Bigtrucks thread. it seems you had many troubles in life, but always kept you head up high and had the priorities in life in good order. that is something that i have trouble with and you seem so much better than me.

i was so happy to read about you; both from this post and from Bigtruck's. and it was wonderful to see all of the support you received from our fellow AZ'ers. really a beautiful story.

first i want to wish you the best-of-luck in the tournament! but there is more i want to say.

my opinion: i hope you see how many folks are 'by your side' and i hope you can see the reason. i will just say my opinion:

i think it is because so many folks admire you. in my mind that means that i think you can be successful in building a good life for yourself. i think you could be successful in not only playing pool, but in a good job too. i'm sure you can see how many folks who do not know you are by your side.

it seems to me, that there were a few negative posts here, and even though they were unkind, they also felt you could be MORE! and do it all by yourself.

i wish you the best, the VERY BEST! but my wishes are just inconsequential. they are just wishes. i will today add to your fund and it will be my pleasure. but most of all i would like you to know that you have made a success of not only your pool life, but your non-pool life and future as well.

i have an idea in my head. it has been with me for many hours. i know me. and not always, but sometimes i have good ideas. but with the help of many others, maybe we can help you more. but let's leave that for now.

just do your best in nawlins and best of luck!

always,
smokey
