Sorry, those people are the pro's!
Welcome to Billiards.
I was hoping to get some valuable information in this forum, but it seems like all I'm getting are opinions...

.....omgwtf!
Besides the ones already mentioned, I know there were some talented players when I played in their tour some years back. I came in second against Cassie Anderson (I am pretty sure that was her last name) and I believe Stephanie Nakagawa Boch played on their tour too.
Jane Fujinaga, Hydred Makabali and Jenny Lee played pretty well too.

I think it would be nice to get more exposure, but I think that approach would be best through knowledgeable key people with the billiards world. Maybe speak to someone who is a tournament director for medium to large scale events, then you'll get a better idea of what to expect.
None of these girls play anymore...except maybe recreationally here and there.
If you are looking for girls playing in the So Cal area...ones that play strong enough to play on the pro tour, you can contact the WPBA office. Or you can PM me and I can try to help you.

There are a lot of girls that play in California, I'm just not sure of the number of girls that play in LA. There is a large concentration in the San Francisco area and some in the San Diego area. When I think of LA I think of the Melissas and Melinda.
Keep in mind, there is a very fine line between who is a pro and who isn't. Also keep in mind, the pros are usually the ones who are the most hardworking, under-appreciated and underpaid.
I wish you luck in trying something. Pool can definitely use all the help it can get. You should ask Melissa Herndon about stuff. Believe me, girls know when other girls play pool and would probably have the best insight.

Used to play Robin everyday in Westminster Ca. when I was around 17. I had a pretty good record with her in 9 ball but she beat me in the finals of a straight pool tournament in front of my parents. Winner got to play Cowboy Jimmy Moore. She didn't win that match but she sure had talent back then and became a great champion....
"Exploit"...you can't be serious! "Not on your watch"...I didn't realize you were the pool police? It's called exposure! And believe me female pool players deserve it and can use it. There is an entire world of amazing female players out there who don't get the recognition they deserve...money players, league players who can't afford to be on the women's tour, or who can't do any or all of the traveling to stay in the game.
I'm sure I could contact either of the Melissa's and ask them, but like I said, I am not interested in the pros...I am interested in the hard working, overlooked, under-appreciated strong female players.

I want to get a consensus going here...:grin-square:

I just remembered - Mary Avina. She joined the same time you did, what a coincidence.

...who's looking for talented female players...not necessarily pros, but the hot up-and-coming women who are the next rank of pros coming out of the Los Angeles area.
So was her response in the TAR thread, though. The problem here is that Pool Femmebots posts are too literate & legible.
