Shaft caddy carts needed.

I have been looking all over for some more shaft carts and have not been able to find any anywhere. I got mine at cosco a few years back and have not seen them since. The ones I have hold about 140 shafts and the size of the holes are around 1 inch square. If anyone knows where to find some it would be greatly appreciated. These are a couple pics I had on photobucket with the racks I am looking for in the background. Chris.

Hi,

I bought mine online from Target. They sell them as a kitchen cart with a butcher block top. You put the butcher block top on the bottom and the two baskets allow you to place the shafts between the squares. Works perfect. You have to assemble the unit different that the instructions but it works without drilling holes or making modifications.

I think it is called kitchen caddy or kitchen cart. I won't be hard to find.

Thanks Rick. I checked out the ones target has and they have changed the design so the basket is not like the old ones were. They did have some kitchen basket organizers on their website but when I tried to order them it says no longer available.

Hey rocker, Those would probably work but they do not have the devided square holes I like, like on the kitchen carts. worst case scenario I could make those work but I really like the ones I have as they are easy to move around the shop and hold alot of wood for their size.

I got mine at sams the holes are smaller so you have to do some cutting but there only 64.00

I would put that outstanding cue in a case instead of pushing it around on that cart all the time :rolleyes:.
But anyway I got my cart at lowes for about 40 bucks.

Sometimes you catch them at Target for $14.99.
Use zipties with them, and you can make a lot out of one box.
 
Thanks guys. I ordered a couple of the ones from target. I will try them out. I would still like to find a few like the ones I have. I really like the compactness of them.

I didn't see a pic of the grate at first. They are rect. You may just have to break out the tig and go monster garage and build a set.... I know I know time is at a premium. Now that I understand.

Another option is you can do as I and spend a few minutes with some scrap plywood and a holesaw. Easy to make whatever size box you need & you can add wheels if so desired. I made a box that holds 100 shafts out of $5 of wood from the scrap bin. Works great! :)

I really have nothing to share with you. You don't know me nor have you ever done any business with me yet you jump in threads, call me names & harass me. And now you want me to take the time to do something for you? :rolleyes: My apologies if you can't figure out a box with holes in it.
 
Shawn, I bought a package of those grid squares. I'm making a mobile caddy
but in the meantime, I put a couple of the grids together to hold my shafts.
If you don't care that its stationary, then they work great the way they are. One grid will hold approx 70 dowels.

Heres an idea. You know the plastic milk crates that stores usually stack out back. You know, the ones that you can borrow from the stores.
Cut the bottom out of one and stack 2, zip tie them together. The grids are slightly bigger than the crate. Zip tie one to the top of the crate or you can cut the grid to size. Either a piece of plywood to the bottom of a crate or just bolt 4 castors to the bottom. Instant Caddy.

I still have a couple extra baskets that came with my carts I was planning on using to make a few more carts with. I just wanted to see if I could come up with a few more carts similar to mine because it looks like they are no longer common to find in stores. When I get the ones from target I will let you know how they work out. Thanks everyone. Chris.
