That's because Hu (ShootingArts) "killed Shawn Putnam's action."![]()

*****bump*****
Shawn killed his own action, Hu just pointed it out. When I read the post in question my initial thoughts were pretty much what Hu thought only I didn't voice it. I'm not as well spoken as Hu so I'm glad he did it.
As for stuck in Tampa, the list isn't even out until Mon so no one can vote until Mon. You keep bumping this thread all day for the next 3 days and you'll end up having the opposite effect of what you're looking for. People will get annoyed and not vote in Shawn's favor. (JMO)

Shawn,
I won't be voting for you. Class is important in the team members, that is apparently why most favor Earl not being on the team. Your post in the Earl thread lacks class so I'll have to pass over you too and see what other players are available. A bit too much glee at Earl and his fans expense in my opinion.

(From the other thread, red highlight by Hu)
Please tell me how this post has anything to do with class.
I truely don't think I said anything wrong.
Just trying to give you guys some info that I heard .
Trying to ruin my thread was classless when I worked so hard all year for this.
If you didn't like something I said you could of just PM'ed me and I would have appologized publicly.
But thanks for trying to hurt my chances of getting on the team.
Hope you have a great day.

dont know why all the fuss. putnam is not going to make it. if they are making a line he will be 7-1. moore, morris, hatch, and even mills odds would be smaller. imo anyone check the action room for a line ? i haven't.
Timeline:
This is a timeline with the gist of the messages in PM's and the forum message posted while PM'ing me. These are not actual PM's or quotes from PM's as I normally prefer to keep private messages private unless there is compelling reason not to.
5:20 Shawn sends me a PM apologizing for his post and saying he and Earl are good friends, he didn't mean to offend anyone, just informing everyone. He said he meant no disrespect in his post I quoted, and apologized for the misunderstanding. He asked for my vote.
5:38 (18 minutes after sending the apology) Shawn posts this forum message I am responding to that I only found about an hour later when I checked if Shawn had posted something similar to his PM.
5:45 I suggested in a reply that Shawn post his PM or something similar on the forum and I would reply to it with a neutral post at worst. Also told him that I would vote for him if he was the best man with a chance for winning late in the polling period but as I have already said I think Rodney Morris is probably the best man for the team.
5:48 (10 minutes after the above post in this thread) Shawn sent me a PM thanking me for my understanding.
I deliberately waited several hours to see if Shawn chose to edit or delete his last post that I am replying to here, or post again in a different tone. Since he hasn't I have to assume that he is happy with that message that he posted in total contrast to his PM's. Seems to make him not only a flip-flopper and subject to wild mood swings but someone that says one thing in private and a totally different thing in public.
A few possibilities:
Without digging too deep or making the usual assumptions about someone that has huge mood swings it seems that Shawn has one standard for himself and a different one for everyone else or at least me. It also seems that Shawn doesn't add any more stability to the Mosconi Cup team than Earl did and in my opinion doesn't have the firepower that Earl at his best does. It now seems that a vote for Shawn is a vote for a pale imitation of Earl. If we want to vote a player onto the team that can't stay stable for thirty minutes at a time I think we should have kept the better pool player.
I am now doing what Shawn accused me of and strongly recommending that we select a person with a more level temperament to fill the final slot on the team. I think the veteran Rodney Morris gives us the best chance of winning based on a past record of working and playing well with others on the team. Either Donny or Hillbilly could be a super wild card or could be overwhelmed by Mosconi Cup pressure. Those are my three picks although some of the others that I am less familiar with might be better picks. I'll make a decision after I see which ones can make a senrious run at the spot.

I don't know Shawn well or know much about Shawn, but I've never heard mention of him being a malcontent. Conversely, he's seemed like a gentle giant. Anyway, I'm not going to read much into the flap that's gone on here so far.
If I were in contention for #5, I might do some crazy sh!t, who knows. What an incredible honor and privilege to be on the Cup!
Sidebar question: How much weight do we think this forum carries in the pick for #5? If we think we can "sway" a few hundred votes and we project - geez - I dunno - 25,000 votes, then this is likely all fodder. Thoughts?
i'm on the list
I imagine this forum is probably a good indicator. How many people outside of this forum and forums like BD actually will know about the vote?
What if I told you I heard one M Cup hopeful has hired an internet marketing firm to send out @ 100,000 emails from a mailing list tailored to poker players, asking for their vote? The cost for this type of solicitation is minimal.
Who knows what's going on outside of our beloved forums...
Just a what if...
