Who started AZB?

Its a conspericy....

it is a multi tasc force operation betwen the ATF, FBI, DEA, and the CIA. They are going to do a massive round up of all the gamblers, night owl's, and other unmentionables in pool.

they are out to get us pool players and our known associates, its the underworld we live in and the squares cant stand it.

Real answere is Mike Howerton in Phoenix-thats my understanding. I know Jerry F, alos is involved-i'm smart enough not to ever try to spell his last name. Both great guys and I truthfully believe AZ has helped pool alot. Its more social than it was in 84 when I went into retirement, I played 9 years and knew a few people, now when I go to anything I'm shaking more hands than a politication running for office, and its not just me, I see others interact. Pool was more cold back then, I think the internet has made the "scene" accessable to those who want be involved.

Mike Please Read This Post its NOT a Joke...

Yup, that would be me.

It was originally supposed to be a site for local Arizona pool. That idea went out the window in a hurry and it took on a life of it's own.

Mike

All jokeing aside( was just being silly in my post, i'm very stressed now and tring to relieve a but of tension) But back to what I said Isnt it a wonderful feeling to have a idea just explode into something you most likely didnt expect. And when that happens it takes a strong person to keep a level head and hold things together. You have done that very well and I admire that, its easy to screw up think Mike Tyson.

I wish you continured success and thank you for evetything, with my back problems/operations. I spent alot of hours on AZ passing the time, I try and contribute quality posts( was just being silly eariler) but as a ruleI provide good content and help people, that is what we owe you as a community that you created. Success is where timing and luck intersect.

Y'know something?... I would hate to try and count out the number of members this site has got and how many people would stop by on a regular basis, even those who are just passin' through or haven't signed up to join in the message boards, but I do know 1 thing's for sure, I'd like to see every member taking the time to at least post up some kind of message to say thank you for creating the site in the 1st place and to at least give some seriously well deserved rep points in acknowledgement :)

This is definitely THE best billiard site on the net when it comes to a social network and info centre for pool players and I'm glad that I joined

Thank you Mike and to all the Mods on AZB for doing an awesome job, and also to Jerry Forsythe for for his contributions to the site and to pool as well :)

Willie

Best pool website

It's definitely here at AZB. Unless there's some non-english speaking site that we don't know about. What amazes me about AZB is that there is so many sections to appeal to different interests. I spend 95% of my time in the main forum. I know others who spend their time in the cue gallery or cue making. It's nice to have the major tournament forums.

I honestly can't think of any way to improve this site. I mean what could you possibly add?

I KNEW IT....I ALWAYS KNEW IT.....

I've been on this site for about two years now, and I was never positive if the AZ meant that it was originally for Arizona pool, or if it was like it was a site for everything in pool from A to Z. Maybe I'm a bonehead....

I love the site. People are very helpful and informative. It seems to me that there are slightly less flame wars than at some points in the past, but I'd still like to see even less. I'm here to learn, not argue with a stranger and call him/her names.

The only thing that could improve this sight is if you heard balls clicking every time you typed in a message.

And a sludge hammer break, every time you used an exclamation point!

This is what the information highway was designed to do.

First of all thanks Mike your site rocks, and we will never know the far reaching effects that it has had and will have on the industry.

One thing that I think would be a asset to the site is a listing of members by state. I understand that many members don't want everyone to know who they are and where they are but many on here do. It would be great to check my state (Colorado) and see who's also from the area. Or if you planned on traveling you could meet up with AZ'ers more easily.

I would just like to say to the founder of AZ, Thanks for comeing up with the idea and the forum in it's self. I somedays aren't able to get out and play like I used to so I get on here and check out whats going on. There are alot of interesting stories and facts on here and I get alot of enjoyment out of AZ. Thanks alot again,,ED
