Please explain Moniker

Purposely miss spelled. I fly fish the Colorado River and high mountain lakes of Arizona. The older I get the harder it seems to find the time to get out and play.

Siamese cats are commonly referred to as "Meezers" by cat lovers (Siameeeeese) :)

Thanks - I like Siamese too but I'm actually more of a Bengal lover - these are ours, litter sisters (they may look alike but act as different as cats and dogs).

Both of my Harleys are blue. My friend refers to them as the Blue Hogs.
BTW, by chance anyone looking for a fully restored 1976 Electra Glide, might be for sale. Under 30 K original miles. Would like to buy more cue supplies.
Can only ride one at a time.

well i have an unhealthy obsession with moose. so my friends started calling me moose, about 10 years ago. the name stuck, so either people call me by my last name or moose. the rest speaks for itself. :D

Filling up my truck after work

and a coworker driving by noticed I still had my safety glasses on, the old dark framed stupid looking ones of coarse, so he rolls down the window and barks out MRMAGOO! It stuck. Has nothing to do with the way I shoot LOL!

mine's kinda dumb

It's got about 4 meanings by now.
Lol. When I was in high school i was one of the bigger guys in terms of physical size, but I was always quiet and extremly easily overlooked in terms of personality because i didnt like making a scene. A few people began to call me ninja because i'd be randomly in a spot talking, something would happen to a buddy and I'd be there before anyone knew what was going on.

Second version came from my pool play/gambling attitude I suppose.
I got caught wearing a goofy green tee shirt, couple of guy's started up jokes about me being a turtle, i laughed and told em the only way I was a turtle was if I happened to be one of the teenage mutant ninja turtles [ god i'm showing my young/ old age to some people and I feel dumb] and one guy around the group just laughed and laughed for a good fifteen minutes and stood up. I asked why he'd laughed that hard and he just grinned ' Well you're more like the foot, cause i've watched how gamble and you might as well say Ninja vanish' and throw your cash away.

N33njah was just a variation that I made due to people taking ninja and other things on various other forms.

So yeah mine's kinda dumb, but it's stuck.

Mine's very obvious:

dr_dave = "Dr. Dave"

This is what many of my friends and family members have called me every since I got my PhD. One of my trouble-maker friends started it, and I didn't like it at first, but now I do. It's also what all of my students and co-workers call me at the university where I teach. It's also what most people in the pool world call me.

Regards,
Dave

please explain moniker

Yankeepapa was my op sign in the military, several lifetimes ago.

Derived from initial letters of first and last name, reversed and expanded to the phonetic alphabet.

occasional flashes of B
too often in the slough of D

YOU know that feeling when you see a cue and fall in love with it, and then you hit with it, buy it and love the feeling of pulling it out of the case to play?
Cuephoric.
I just happen to have an unhealthy addiction to great playing/looking cues, so I keep getting it.... maybe it should be another word for a cue addiction..?lol

US Navy Rating

Gas turbine Systems technician, Mechanical, 1st Class (Surface Warfare)

Should add (ret) after so it would read GSM1SW(ret) as I did retire after 20 years but I've been using the original for too long.

After 4 years in the Navy I retired a CTO2(SW).

Mine's a little different......

I'm a firefighter and the engine company I was assigned to (Engine 82) a few years ago was always being moved up to "Standby" for other engine and truck companies. We were'nt a busy engine. So, we were always the first in our battalion for the standby. So, when our department allowed us to put monikers on our trucks, I came up with "The Standby Kids". This was the same time that I dicovered the net and email. So, I adopted it as my email and screen name for different sites.

The rest is history:grin:.
