Yes, your post was inappropriate, and not because of the subject matter. It is your every right to voice the opinion that it's unfortunate that negative threads seem to generate more attention than positive threads. You are not alone in that view. Expressing a controversial or unpopular opinion is not disrespectful of other posters. Where you were out of line was in your style of communication.
The posters I admire the most are those that post with courtesy, diplomacy, and respect for other posters on the forum and respect for all who are part of the world of pool. Perhaps you can become one of them.
The past is history, and if you now establish a solid pattern of posting without crudity and with respect for others, I think you'll become a very highly regarded poster on AZB.
