Cristina De La Garza video interview

We need to start rallying around people who have made accomplishments in this sport! Regardless of how big or small. Cris, Borana, Lucy, Bill, Tom WHATEVER!

We need intelligent, articulate interviews like these to help pull more attention in our direction. I want to know who is up and coming on tour. They will have a positive out look, fresh ideas and a new perspective on things. We have all heard the complaints from the veterans, but it is the new talent that will make the change and keep pushing things in a positive direction.

As for being easy on the eyes, yes on the surface. But here is the real attraction. Lack of ego............there weren't any I / Me statements there. Humble, modest and insightful. For me it was refreshing, and the pool world needs more of that.

I enjoy watching the women's tour grow, and am happy that it is still a success.

Great interview Cristina...........keep building the resume.

i'd like to see you get interviewed

She was interviewed, for an article in Inside Pool but that is the written word and I'm seeing a pattern of denseness with you so maybe you need to hear her interviewed. Then again, we already know that won't work either because you totally misunderstood the interview with Cris.

i said i'd like to see her interviewed because her figure looks great in her avatar picture.

There's no pattern of denseness. you ought to check the punctuation in your posts if you're going to be calling other people dense.

i didn't misunderstand anything. it seems like everyone on here's misunderstanding what i said. it kind of seems like everyone is trying to make it looks like i'm some kind of hater.

Punctuation and spelling are secondary to comprehension (to me). I'm good at some things, bad at others. I don't call people out when I notice a grammatical error because I'm not perfect and I make my own mistakes. Now that we've addressed the trivial stuff that have nothing to do with the thread, can we get back to the point at hand?

1. You made yourself out to be the "hater". People are going by your words.
2. QueenB is Borana, she was interviewed by InsidePool and was on the cover of one of their issues a month or so ago.
3. This one is the most mind boggling of all - you complained about Cris being interviewed not because she has accomplished something (in your mind) but because she is attractive. Now you just said that you would like to see Borana interviewed because she is attractive?

i didn't say i didn't like watching the interview. i'm always down to check out good looking women.

i already told you guys once in this thread that you were right and i was wrong. this ain't the playground kid. you want to be right so much you got it.
i figured i'd go ahead and throw this out there. i'm not really good at spelling or punctuation either. i don't see why everyone's so worked up over what i said. just because my opinion is different than everyone else's people here (on az) seem to need to try to insult me. it's ok to disagree there's no need to be rude

he's right........ it seems like she's getting this attention because she's easy on the eyes

i'd like to see more recognition given to people based on talent instead of looks

man you're a funny one! this isn't about me. it's about players getting recognized because of their skill. it might even be about women being admired for more than their looks.

all i'm saying is that i'd like to hear about newer players (men or women) because of how well they're playing

i'm just saying there are more talented female players out there that deserve recognition because of how well they're performing

I don't care who is wrong or right but comprehension is a peeve of mine (one of my "issues" if you will). I like to understand things and I like for others to understand things. You don't understand why people thought you were "hating" on Cris, maybe this post will help. The part in blue is a complete about face of what you had been saying all through the rest of the thread. I don't think I'm going to be able to understand where those came from. I've got to chalk those up to contradiction and not spend anymore time trying to figure out why.

my interest in seeing an interview of borana has nothing to do with my interest in pool/pool players.

there's no contradiction in my posts. i just didn't explain why i wanted to see an interview of borana. that's right man! i like looking at pretty women...even if they don't play pool. she could have been talking about toaster ovens and i'd have watched the interview.

you notice that in my posts i don't go all out to talk down to the people that disagree with me. i stopped doing that when i was 13. when you grow up a little you'll learn to disagree without trying to insult the people you disagree with

Cris is a highly significant presence in our sport, for she -

a) competes regularly on the WPBA, the highest level of women's pro competition
b) commentates during some of the most prestigious tournaments in both men's and women's pool, often travelling vast distances to do so
c) plays a very active role in the billiards press

All of this gives her a very panoramic and informed view of the pro game today. Combine this with the fact that she works a full-time job, and it is clear that hers is a great, not to mention intriguing, story.

I'm sure I'm among many looking forward to seeing how Cris' story plays out, and I wish her every possible success as she pursues her dreams, both inside and outside of pool.

after hearing all this i can see why she was interviewed.

Wow, the girl gets some recognition and it turns into this...
Pitiful.

One person commentated negatively and dozens including the original poster commented positively. The above is not even half empty/half full thinking. It's "full glass vs a drop on the counter thinking" and you are focusing on the drop. The "bright side" is waaaaayyyy better.

Have a great weekend!

This lady has become a very good pool player in a short amount of time. She gives many hours in her busy life back to pool. She comes on here and gives us info that we would otherwise wait weeks for...and it's always based on fact. If she played pool full time who knows how well she'd be playing right now. She never has a cross word for anyone on here even though some deserve it. Lighten up on her...she a good person and good for pool. Johnnyt

I hope you read her aforementioned blog which, by the way, is better then a curriculum vitae as it paints a better picture of what she is all about as a person.

I read her blog for the first time yesterday. I knew she had a good job and was a smart young lady but I didn't realize just how intelligent she is until I learned more about her through her blog.

Cris has a lot of irons in the fire which makes her WPBA acceptance that much more impressive. It is difficult to reach pro level status while having to maintain a full time job. It sounds as if Cris travels quite a bit with her job also which cuts into table time even more so than the normal 8-5 local job. As many WPBA members that are employed full time can attest to, getting accepted was just one of many hurdles. Now she has to maintain that status while still working full time. I wish her all the best.

The fact that anyone had to defend this is what I called pitiful.
