A Case thread with............NO FLAME WARS PLEASE

Personally, I prefer a lightweight vinyl or fake-leather-looking case that costs less than $100. I am usually the one that has to carry it, and I like it to be very lightweight on my shoulder. I am the same way with purses or shoulder bags.

A pool case gets thrown around on the ground, in the car, and everywhere. That is why I prefer a cheapy-deepy one, as opposed to fancy-schmancy one. :grin-square:

When I see those poor pros carrying the heavy cases like golf bags, I feel so sorry for them. I know their shoulders hurt. :sorry:

I think the one we have now, we got it at Turning Stone Casino from one of the vendors there at a Joss tournament. It cost 65 bucks, if memory serves me right. It can hold four shafts and two or three butts, I think.

Wow! It's been so long since I've carried a pool case that I can't remember what the one we have looks like inside. :o

I'm kinda partial to my Instroke 3X7 Cowboy leather case (I've got the two-tone case). It's built solid as a rock. People claim it's a tad heavy for their liking, but I've never had a problem with it. It's got decent storage pockets, easily holds 60" cues (two 30" pieces of course ), and the hardware is top-notch! I don't think at my age that I'll ever need another case again in my lifetime.

I like the leather cases like Justis, Nittany, Swift, and I also like Whittens and Murnaks. I have yet to purchase one though :(. But will be getting 2 here real soon .
Right now I have 3 Porpers (2) 2x4 (1) 3x6 and a Guisseppe 2x4. I am happy with all of them. My only complaint is with the 3x6 Porper. I don't like the top with the Velcro but other than that it's fine. I prefer 2x4's and 3x6's for configuration.

I have (5) Favorite Makers

John Bartron, Flowers Tribune Cases, with a Custom 3 x 4 from John Coming Soon Love John’s Tuff-Lite Interior

Ron Thomas, love his Old School 1 x 2 and 2 x 4, and if I ever get my VA Pension I will buy a 1 x 2 Elephant with Ivory End CAPS.

Jack Justis Love my 2 x 4 Pro Lite

Dennis Swift make a WAR CASE that will last for ever

Dan Whitten Love his 2 x 4's with (2) Pockets

Now I can say LOVE, but I can say anxiously awaiting a CASE in 15 Months from Rusty Melton

I have an Instroke 3X7 for when I'm playing, and a 2X4 for the cues I use when I'm teaching. Waiting for a John Barton custom case to show up on my door step one of these days.....

Soon before X-Mas?

Case: Can't narrow it down to just one.

Cues: I don't think it's any secret that I have a lot of man love for Paul Mottey and James White. But Paul gets top honors with me. I've been a fan of his cues for as long as I can remember.

I have a Talisman tribal 2x4. It is a great case. Talisman doesn't get mentioned often but I think you get a lot of value per dollar invested with their cases.

Jack Justis is my show case...

GTF, Thomas, and Fellini are my minimalist cases.

JV

Everyday carry: JB Flowers Tribute 3x5 - because protection is more important than bling.

Minimalist carry: Kelli 1x2 - because they combine classic design with rarity.

Storage: OnQ 12x24 Collector Case - because precious collections deserve a great home and Garth makes the best out there.

YOU DON'T SHOOT WITH YOUR CASE !!!

i gotta action case from cuestix wholesale when i owned a room 10 years ago. retail was about 200.
it is still just fine after taking alot of abuse. 10 years and no worries.
2x4 black with nice pouches been very good for the purpose.

Usa!

My favorite case is now a Jim Murnak case. It's made in the USA and has withstood a substantial amount of abuse by me. Mine is a 3x5 one of Jim's early cases from when he first started to do cue cases and the only thing I have managed to damage so far is one of the rivets that holds the handle to the top has broken. I do not care about the weight at all (it is heavier than some other cases for sure), I figure when I am too old to lift up my cue case then it will be time to give up playing or get a caddy!

A hot dog case, I think they call it that. 4X8, used for storage but is a great case and served me well when I was carrying it. Can't go wrong with one of these as they're padded and protect very well.

Sterling 3X5 used for storage as well but is a well constructed case and never a problem when I carried it either.

Pro Series - 3X5. Shiny blue and white nylon and looks like a golf bag. Cool as heck. Top of the case is made well but nylon sleeves the rest of the way down. I didn't think much of it as far as protection goes, but, it made it all the way to Vegas last year in the cargo holds and all the cues arrived and came back unscathed. Used for storage now.

Present case is a GTF Prestige 2X4. I got a heck of a deal from an AZer.
Very impressed. I watched John's video on the GTF site on how to load and unload these GTFs. The cues all come within 1/8th of an inch from each other and theres almost no way you can make them touch. It would take more than an earthquake to make your cues fall out after they're tucked in.
