Im sick of all these pool places closing too early! I get off of work at midnight, and the closest pool room to me is a half an hour away, and closes at 2am. So in the end, its not worth the drive for an hour of pool. I think us night owls should write our congressmen and get a law passed that forces the pool rooms to give us late nighters at least two hours of pool play time! I know, I know.....so back here in reality, it is unfair that those who work daytime jobs can play for hours after work, but Johnny Law makes the beer-serving pool room shut its doors at 2, but I guess thats just the way life goes, lol. Just wanted to complain about it, feel free to reply in a smart-ass fashion, thanks!

I feel your pain. I work a rotating shift, so I completely understand. My complaint is they are not open at 6:30 AM when I get off this morning.
 
hey joe its even worse now they changed there hours...lol. as you know i get my son on wednesdays then when me and him are done doing our thing,i almost always go there for some practice time.well wednesday i went over there to hit sum and eleven rolled around and they said they were closeing at twelve the only time there open till two is on the weekend!!!!! but he wants to whine about not making any money! i feel your pain brother.
 
Move to a city that has a 24 hour pool hall like Mickey's in Las Vegas!
 
What time do you go to work? Most pool halls I know of open at 11:00 am. Maybe you could get a couple hours in before work.

Or move to Columbus, Ohio. Cornfed Red's is 24 hours!
 
If I got off work at midnight I would be in a mad dash to play for an hour a day. Unfortunately I get off work at 630am and no pool halls are open at that time. I get to play Sundays......Saturdays too if I am lucky so I envy your opportunity.

You took the words right out of my mouth! Please note as well that all bars and pool rooms in Vegas are twenty four hour. That's one reason why insurance rates are so high for drivers in Vegas. You can drink all those twenty four as well.

In New Jersey some towns have laws that require pool halls to close by midnight. If the place has a liquor license then the hours are controlled be the state not the town. The place with a liquor is allowed to stay open to I think 2 or 3. Most places close at two a.m.

Same in Ohio when I last lived there. Once the bar closed so did the tables. If someone was playing past 2:30am it was the same as having ppl drinking booze past 2:30am.

Agreed! It would be nice to be able to bust out 5 hrs and be done by noon!

I grew up in a 24hr, no alcohol room that had a decent amount of action around the clock. 'Twas nice.

Friggin jobs, always getting in the way.
 
If the rooms close too early maybe think of buying a
home table, there are lots of deals out there on craigs list.

Sir i feel your pain! what's funny is that my game improved a lot because of exactly what you're talking about. a few years back i worked a weird schedule and i'd only get to play pool an hour a day 3-4 days a week. i'd get off at 10:30 or 11:00 and rush down to the pool hall to get in some practice. i ended up focusing more because i didn't have a whole lot of time.

Try making the most of your time!
 
Thats really a bummer. My local room closes at midnight but if there is action going on they will stay open until the players are done. No alchohol is served though so they arent subject to any of those tricky laws.

Yea I found out they changed their hours a couple weeks ago when I went up there at midnight and it was closed. If I still worked there, I guarantee it would be open WAY later, lol.
