Well I certainly need to do some drills just to improve my mechanics, stay down and follow through. Too bad you were not closer, I do not know many instructors who are top notch here in Arizona. :smile:

Jump on this Lenny. It's money well spent and not a lot. The video is great to see what you are doing. What will really shock you is the after video. That is, after Randy gets you straightened out. You will have a whole new set of drills for your mechanics, eye pattens, aiming and pre-shot routine. Please don't let this opportunity pass you by. You shoot way to strong to not invest in your ability.

J/k. Being a consumate life-long student of the game, I certainly wouldn't mind an all-day session with you. As they say, every little bit helps, and sometimes one never knows what someone else's eyes can see that one him/herself cannot see. Looking to break my high straight pool run of 133 (done a decade and some change ago, but I think I can do it in 2010).
P.S.: interested in your thoughts on my slip-stroke "how-to" write-up in another thread; not sure if you caught it. Interested in your thoughts from an SPF point of view...

Jerry is at Bullshooters in Phoenix almost every single day giving lessons in the back corner of the room. Most don't even know he's there because the room is 51,000 Sq. Ft. He has his camera setup and is back there for many hours with one on one.
Also, We have San Jose Dick in the valley and Scott Frost obviously. I think for 1 hole lessons you cannot go wrong with these two.
I've also heard from many players around the state that Mark Wilson is a very good instructor. I spoke to BRKNRUN and David Wiseman the other night at Stingers about Mark.
Oh yeah, and Babe Thompson is a great person to learn from as well. Tell him I sent you and you can get a discounted rate as he's a sponsor of azpoolscene.com.

No bloopers or outtakes, this video was done in about 20 minutes right before I was packing up the stream and heading home.
I do emulate his game and try to absorb what he does. One pocket was my favorite game before I moved out here to Arizona and as fate might be the Freezer was here. I have yet to get any lessons from him although he does point out a thing from time to time.
I forgot all about Jerry Briesath being in Phoenix, I think I helped promote his lessons last year or something. I will have to get in touch with him and see if he has some time for me. :smile:

Thanks for the advice and I really believe for me to go to the next level I need to have some stuff worked out. I have been playing for about 6 years now and I am still improving regardless of my bad mechanics but I know there will be a point where I will hit a wall and stay there as I have seen many players out there do.
I am rated an 8 in Arizona, was a 9 but the whole system lowered everyone 1 number. An 8 translates to a B player, most A players in AZ are 9's. I am friendly with most of them and they say I have the ability to get to that level and my goal for 2010 is to become a 9 before the year is out.
I play in tournaments with some of the 9's and they have to give up the 8, I can win with the 8 so it shows that if I can improve one or 2 notches I will be able to compete with some of my higher rated peers even. I have beat some of them even in tournament play but I have to be playing my best game, the key is to bring that game consistently.
