(Earl Strickland vs Keith McCready 1988 pt3). I believe the whole match is on here, great stuff. I don't know how to provide a link here. I noticed in this match that Keith doesn't get low on the ball when he shoots, like some of the players do today, yet he still shoots lights out pool! Seems like alot of the greats shot this way yet today's players are bent over so much to get eye level. I wonder what Keith thinks about this?
Perhaps JAM can comment. Also, are there any DVD's out there of Keith's matches..would like to see more...... thanks

I can add a wee bit but not much.

When Keith was in his prime, there weren't too many videos being made of pool player matches. Though there were some homemade videos produced, the quality of the video and audio is a little lacking, compared to today's stuff.

That said, Accu-Stats has always been high quality and first class. I especially like Accu-Stats because they treat the pool players with respect and NEVER FORGET the players who have been supportive to their mission.

Accu-Stats is the pioneer for quality video pool matches, and I recommend them highly.

My all-time fave with Keith is the one when he played Jose Parica in the winner's bracker at the 2003 U.S. Open. If they had played the finals that night, Keith would have won the entire shebang.

You had to have been there to feel the electricity in the air. The entire Chesapeake Conference Center was rocking and rolling. Every single spectator had a smile on their face, laughing, cheering, and clapping. Accu-Stats labels it as "The most entertaining match that Accu-Stats has ever offered. Keith steals the show and the audience approval."

Of course, Jose got a little revenge the next day and knocked Keith out of the tournament. Keith came in third, pocketing 10 dimes. :)

I've watched that clip many times. Keith doesn't get many lines but he executes them as well as any actor could.
Maybe part of it is that he just fell into the part of something he just does naturally anyway. He shoots pool and he can talk the talk and walk the walk.

I love it when Keith slams the rack and balls on the table when he has to rack for vince. Just amuses me for some reason. He really is a good actor. :grin:

I never noticed before, but Vince says, "up yours with the spot" after he kicked in the seven, then made the eight and nine. So what was the spot?

Funny thing is I asked him about the movie one time and he really didn't remember anything about it.

Did you notice how all the balls fall in place for a perfect 9-ball rack? It's kind of interesting that they did that. Maybe it was by accident. :grin-square:

Hmm, that's an interesting observation because he remembers a lot about it with me. Maybe you caught him at a bad moment. :smile:
